The Best Pet Ever(right now)

You can't snuggle with him.  You may want to reconsider kissing him.  But the best pet for me right now is a bird.  Used to be that I enjoyed a dog.  But my husband is gone so there's no one to share responsibilities.  I work 12 hours.  No dog could endure that long alone.  So sad. 
So I have a bird.  He's good at spending long hours alone.  And I can talk to him without feeling silly.  He's learned  quite a lot of words since my husband passed as there is no one else to talk to.  He's a cheap pet too.  Bird seeds last forever and my apartment complex doesn't consider him a pet, so no pet rent.
I guess he's one more thing that says my life is different.
