Since starting at FDA, he developed a review focus in cybersecurity, participates in cybersecurity guidance development, and supports cybersecurity National Harbor vascular doctor vulnerability assessments and premarket reviews across CDRH. He started his position as the Cybersecurity Policy Analyst in the Office of Product Evaluation and Quality in February 2020. His role is focused on premarket and postmarket cybersecurity policy development and implementation across the clinical review offices. He also serves as a Digital Health Center of Excellence Program Director for the OPEQ Cybersecurity Focal Point Program.

He is Adjunct Professor at Stanford University; holds six U.S. technology patents that enable authoring, mapping, and integration of clinical decision support into electronic health records; and has been recognized as one of the 100 most influential persons in healthcare by Modern Healthcare. Dr. Poole has served on many HRS committees and most recently, the Board of Trustees.
Dr. Fulmer has held several policy-focused positions in the Office of the Center Director and later as a Policy Advisor in the Office of Policy at CDRH, before joining the Digital Health Center of Excellence. Tony is a research scientist with a focus on using consumer technologies to empower people to manage and improve their health. At Fitbit and Google, Tony leads algorithm development and clinical studies using wearables for disease screening and monitoring. Tony led the Fitbit Heart Study, the clinical trial for the Fitbit Irregular Rhythm Notifications feature, designed to detect signs of atrial fibrillation from the optical heart rate sensors on Fitbit devices.
Bharathi’s husband, Sudarshan Upadhya, PhD, MBA, is co-founder of Aestas Pharma, Inc., based here in Durham. Their son is a senior at Duke University, and their daughter is in the 6th grade. Outside of medicine, Bharathi has learned Bharatanatyam, a classical dance of India.
