The beautiful puppy.
A friend of mine bought a pure bred Siberian Husky puppy. He has startling blue eyes and is friendly and aggressive and so damn puppy like! lollol His coat is so soft! He is adorable. My friend, whose kids I am a Godfather for, is in the service. He is a gunner on helicopters. Two weeks after he got the pup who he named Koda, he was informed that he was to be sent to the Honduras to help fight the drug lords. His wife is deathly afraid of Koda whom she see's as being vicious and dangerous to her and her kids. Two weeks after he left town the wife had had enough of this pup. She told Sam that the pup was hurting her and the kids by biting them and terrorizing them. I had been going over to her house and visiting the puppy and knew this to be bullshit. I have raised German Shepherds for years and saw nothing dangerous or terrorizing about this pup at all. Yes, the pup was mouthy but NO BREAKING OF THE SKIN WAS INVOLVED. If a dog, regardless of age is attacking you then there is bound to be some breakage of skin! Koda was just being a puppy. I told Misty, the wife, that if she were to think like a little boy she could easily outsmart Koda and stop what she thought was his misbehavior. She refused stating that Koda was only a dog and she was not going to think like a dog. She asked her husband, Sam, to remove Koda for the safety of his kids. Sam asked his parents to take Koda in for the duration of his tour, a year, and they agreed. They are a pet friendly couple with four chihuahuas and two big "outside" dogs so he figured that he has solved the problem. I also took Koda for weekends here and there to try and train to be sociable. Last night his parents tell him that Koda is dreadfully ill. They see blood in his urine and he is lackluster. Then they admit to putting out anti freeze baited rat traps to stop a rat problem they were having. This is beyond stupid, this is ignorance at its most ugly!!! They had the audacity to blame Misty for the dog getting ill saying, and I quote, "if Misty could of handled the puppy then he would not be at our house to begin with." The rat traps were not eaten by any dog. The dead rats were. Last night I went over to their house, a suggestion by a certain person whom shall rename nameless, Amanisha hehehe, at or about 1am. And asked to be given the puppy so that I could take him to see a vet today. They had not planned on taking Koda to a vet because the Dad was gonna give him shots of penicillin that he had at home. Ignorance followed by stupidity!!! Well guess what their reaction was? They had the nerve to call the cops on me! " there is a crazy man at out door demanding we hand over a puppy that is not his" lollollol Thank God one of the cops was dog friendly and told me that he understood my concern and to go home before the situation turned even uglier! This morning they talked to their son, Sam, and told him that the puppy was just fine and that it was a false alarm. Sam has ordered his wife t go get the puppy and to take him to the vets asap. I am not at all sure what I want to say with this true story as I have to many conflicted feelings... E
