the 6th month mark

This is what I wrote on facebook this morning, along with some lovely pics:
Juno, six months ago today, you left my life and crossed the Rainbow Bridge, as they say. I think of you every single day and carry you around in my heart all the time. Thank you for being with me on this journey for 15 years. I try to be grateful and appreciate the days and years you were alive and happy with me, rather than focus on your death. But on days like this, it's very hard. ...Charles Dickens said, "What greater gift than the love of a cat." Absolutely.

I can't write much right now, because my students are taking an in-class essay, and if I write much more, I'll cry my eyes out. But I've been so sad this week, knowing the "sixth month mark" was coming.
Today I plan to light a little candle for Juno, put a little flower on his little shelf/altar in my bedroom. And cry. And try to remember the happiness he gave me. And hug Ziggy and Marley and be happy for what I have had, and what I have now.
I'm so, so, so awfully sad. I miss my buddy so much.
