That time of year
It is that time of year again. Winter is here, and the days are short. They are getting longer but by this time of year, I lack energy and struggle with depression. I do my best to get out and exercise and do all the things I need to do to get through the next month. But today, I have been a couch potato, still in my nightie. Sad but true.
I know I will be in a blue funk in January - that is the reason we are going to visit our great granddaughters - we leave for Ottawa on Wednesday. I surely can't be depressed when cuddling those wee bundles.
I have been trying to work on planning but I have trouble focusing. I am sure it will pass but time flies.
It is hard to believe it is the 22nd already! New Years was quiet - Joe did his volunteer concierge at the Arts Centre, and I went to the neighbours'. We were both home by 10!
Since we weren't able to go to Edmonton to spend Christmas with our son and DIL, we went on the 8th of Jan. We had a belated Chirstmas.
I feel out of sorts. There are some days it is just painful when I can't call Lisa and let it all out.
Lisa: I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

I really feel for you Marlene, I've been sitting with my lightbox as I get very down at this time of year too. How wonderful to have two babies to cuddle! My little grandsons keep me going. Much love to you, Sue.
So so understandable. Everyday when I come out from work, and it is getting lighter, I shout Spring is coming in the hope that I will feel it in my bones. My co-workers think I am crazy for sure. Enjoy your cuddles as they will be the best for sure. Peace, Kathy xoxox
I struggle with these gloomy winter days too. They make me want to stay home and hide with a book. So glad you get to go see those sweet grandbabies. What a blessing babies are to be sure. Hugs. Paula
Wishing you a comforting day. Recharge those batteries for another go at it. Love you.
I so understand - we have rain for about 4 days straight with a small window of sun on Saturday and I'm so depressed - just wishing for my daughter.....Hug those great grandbabies and then hug them some more!! (((hugs))) Vicki
January can certainly feel that way and listening to what you heart and body need is okay too. Yes, it passes, yet not quickly enough, I know.
I'm so happy you have this trip to look forward to and cuddle away! Nothing like that infusion from our most powerful healers. Our power was out for about thirteen hours yesterday due to high winds so we headed over to pick up a package at our daughter's and when I saw Eden, the four year old she asked me if we had come to play? Out of the mouth of babes and oh, the hugs are the BEST!
Safe travels dearest Marlene, and please check in if and when you can to let us know how you are doing as I'll be thinking of YOU!
Much love and warm aloha to wrap you up in,
XO Joanie
So understand...been "pj-ing" it on an off all month. January is a let down month for me, too. Add to that the fall out this year from the last thunderstorm and now with this band of storms that went through over the weekend (just lots of debris and only a couple of trees down on the property--nothing too close to the house)...the FL sunny and warmer weather does help.
So understand the blues...so glad that you are going to see the babies...I know that will put some joy in your heart! <3
Thank you for the support. I know I am not alone but it helps to know I am not alone. You, my SOTH are the best. Tight hugs
I just wanted to let you know that I feel the same way in January. Sometimes no matter how hard I try, since my granddaughters are about grown, I look around and think "Is this all there is". So glad you are going to get to hold those sweet babies. Babies make everything better. Safe travels and big hugs to you and Lisa....Nell, Jeff's Mom.
You I hope are in Ottawa and holding the wee ones... Looking forward to some more pictures... Cevyn and the babies that one pic... the upside down but not really one... *S* it was awesome! Trying to catch up... I just go away for awhile sometime... the only way I can handle it... You'll think I'm crazy... (well don't think it any more... rest assured... I am - can't resist a joke even at my own expense... LOL)well anyhoo.... I saved all the notices for Journal posts for the last month... and I hope to catch up... I do want to keep up... but sometimes... I just don't...
I too hate winter... and compared to you all we don't know what winter is... but none the less... the overcast skies, the colder temps... ooooh I hate them... and now... I pretty well dread rain... and I know all these things are necessary to the well being of plants and such like... but dang... I want to move to well heck... there's no where to go where there isn't something... sigh... Take care, Hellos to you and Joe from Richard and I. Elissa
I know the little ones will cheer you up. As you know My grand daughters keep me going. Here in central FL the weather has been warm then chilly then hot then cold. Talk about people getting sick. The roller coaster weather is crazy. Give me even temps, cold or chilly not the roller coaster.
Send the snow southward and I will send the sun to the north. LOL
warm hugs
Penny
