Thankfuls day 5
THankful my daughter in law could take my son's application back to her work and don't have to talk him into going.
Thankful for getting 200 of the 400 letters I have to address and stuff at work done. Halfway to done. Yeah!
And most of all thankful that I have grown in confidence in handling people. 5 years ago I taught my first class and had a man in it named Keith. He is bossy, arrogant and just plain rude. I finished my class in 30 minutes as he upset me and intimidated me so. No one learned anything. Into my class last night he walked. Ugh. I was subbing for someone else and not very confident in my topic. Was kind of shaking in my boots. He made the first rude comment and I just looked at him and made one back. He laughed and although he was still snotty I was snotty at him too and we got along fine. I covered the material. Perhaps a bit quicker than I would have, but went through it all, then spent time on the computers which was very much needed anyway. Let him leave early, oh well, then I could spend time on my other students. He actually was very cooperative through the computer portion and answered questions in class. I left the class feeling very good about how I handled him.
