Thank God for Mary
Here I sit. Mind so foggy nearly braindead. Pain grips my entire body. Burning, aching, throbbing, shooting, dull, sharp. Overwhelmed with exhaustion. Feet swollen and look like footballs. What would I do without my friend Mary. We had not been close for 6 years when I called her last April and told her about what has happened to me physically and that I could not work anymore, I could not do much of anything anymore. I asked if she still had that spare bedroom and if I could rent it. She said yes and I moved down here from my favorite town in northern Arizona. She knows well I am not a mooch so asked for a very small amount of rent which my mother pays her. Mom will get a big chunk of my SSD backpay for making sure I had somewhere to live since 2007. I worked part-time from 2003 to 2007 and missed alot of work because of this pain and all the restrictions on my body. I worked with pain and all the many other Fibro and Spinal problems for several years, I had to and just did it. It reached a point I could not just do it anymore. Mary knew me as the adventurous, physically and mentally strong, hardworking single mom. I remember that me too. I no longer have a car for the first time since I was 16. She has taken me to all kinds of medical appointments continually and spent money on me buying me good supplements. She doesn't understand what I feel like but she is completely accepting of me and my word is believable to her. She has saved me emotionally from the family members I lived close to. This home is stress free and quiet, thank God for the quiet. She is an angel. I always hope that I am a blessing to her in some way by being here rather than just a burden. I try to be a blessing. When I win the lottery she will share in my riches. Thank God for Mary. Sherry

Thank God for Mary indeed! I am so glad you have a good friend like her.. I too have no car and I get ssdi. It can do a number on one\'s self esteem to be receiving aid and being dependent. I am quite sure you are a blessing to everyone around you with your caring and strong personality!
Sherry, Sherry, Sherry..........what a beautiful letter......I\'m not sure who is getting the blessing here......I think both of you are......For you to be so honoring, kind, grateful and appreciative of Mary says something about your integrity and your grateful heart.
I want to jump thru this PC and give you a hug for your strength, courage and we cannot forget \"HOPE.\"
I certainly don\'t understand these horrid diseases\'! however, I do know, for me, despite all the anger, frustration, tears, fear, aloneness (is that a word? It is now) pain, pain and more pain, it has made me a much more compassionate person...and you, my dear, are being to me what Mary is to you.........A GOOD, COMPASSIONATE, CARING FRIEND. Distance in miles cannot take this away.........Thank-you Sherry for your self-honesty and your ability to, during the worst of circumstances, see the \"Good/God!\"
Yes, Mary is an angel; however, you are too.
Thank God for Sherry.
Multitudes of Blessinngs and Hope is being sent your way!
Vicki
You are very fortunate to have such a friend. What an angel Mary is to let you live with her. You are a strong person and don\'t forget that.
Nancy
God often gets the blame for the bad things in our life and rarely get the credit for placing the good things in our life. It\'s a credit to you that you can see the good in your life and not dwell on the pain. God bless you and Mary, I hope you feel better and that Mary knows how much she means to you.
Wow, look at all the responses. : ) You all are so special to me and such an encouragement always, you all are blessings in my life. Every word typed in your comments mean so much to me. God is good. Many times I have witnessed Him supplying my needs but many times He seemed so far away and my heart was discouraged. I felt for a few years that I had become such a weakling and I hated that along with the suffering and loss but it was certain family members who looked upon me as weak to reinforce what I already felt. Mary is the first one who told me, \'You are so strong Sherry\'. I shed a tear. You know I receive no SSD pay yet. Vicki, I did not know I was being such an angel friend to you, thank you my friend of HOPE. I appreciate you all! And today is a new day and thus far pain is only 4 on the pain scale. This is good. : )
Your friend, Sherry
Friends such as Mary are truly invaluable. God bless you both!
Ms. Sherry,
Well, girl, I\'m here to tell you that you are one of my angels! Pain is pretty bad, so, I\'m going to sit on my shower chair, let the tears flow and let the water gooooooooo! Who would of ever \"thunk\" a shower could be so exciting.
Water is healing to me....So want to soak in the tub, but as I said earlier, the \"ole knees\" are too swollen to bend......You know what that\'s like?@!
Ok, hoping for a better tomorrow.
Hopefilled dreams! Nite, nite!
Take care y friend!
Vicki
Sherry you are a blessing. Mary is your angel. My dad is my angel. 47 yrs old can\'t work, losing my car, I don\'t need it anyway. I\'m waiting for SSD myself they are so slow. It\'s gonna take 2 yrs thats gonna be a nice back-check. I feel like such a burden financially but dad needs me he\'s 95% blind so as long as I can get us to our doctor appts and the grocery. I\'m still alive in tears. God bless you darlin. You are an inspiration for us all.
She is a very special friend to try and understand your illness and do so much to help you. Some people\'s own family wont even do this for them! My sister has been wonderful to me, actually my whole family is very supportive, but my sister has gone above and beyond to help me and she has big problems of her own!! These are some very special people!!
tendonshurt, thank you and I\'m so glad you have an angel in your life too. : )
Singer, you are so right and except for my mother ensuring I have a place to live for the last 2 1/2 yrs none of my family offer support but rather tend to blame me for my suffering. Very special people indeed. : )
SherryBerry, you help me so much. I am very glad that Mary is there for you. I hope and pray that you get your SSD soon. My oldest daughter also lost her car and it was very tough for her, but finally, she secured a telemarketing job and has a car again. We were not able to help her and it hurt. My younger daughter has been helping us with her college money and we must pay her back soon.
Those I failed to name, I just want to thank you for your kind words. May you all have angel friends to bless your life. : )
I wish for us all less pain, more energy, much hope and lotsa love....
