TGIF for sure
Work was pretty brutal this week. I am relieved to be having a quiet night at home tonight. Alone is just fine at this point. I spend my workdays largely trapped in a crazy elementary school, mostly confined to a room with difficult children. One of them hits, kicks, screams and throws things most of the day. The peace and silence of my humble abode is lovely at the moment.
I saw something on facebook about my stbx that gave me a few moments of anger and sour grapes. As I can barely afford to pay my bills, and he has not given me a cent since he left, tonight he spent at least $100 to see a concert I would not pay $10 to see. He is crying poor, while I am some nights eating beans and rice, or pasta or eggs for dinner. I do buy good food, when on sale, but I am pinching my pennies so hard they scream at me. I measure every cent I spend on everything....and I can't afford to go out.
Ok, I am still mad that he can go out and do that sort of spending. He has at least finaly agreed to a divorce and is willing to pay for it. Little does he know, I might demand that he report the under the table/cash income he makes, which is substantial over the course of a year. I am considering that option. Not like he owes me alimony, but the court might make him give me some money for the last 13 months. Might be worth a try.
My big spending tomorrow will be at the Dollar Tree and the Goodwill Store.
I am saying this on here so I do not say it anywhere else.
Venting....

I\'m glad you\'re get some much needed peace and quiet.
With respect to your ex, I hate to encourage you to use to Facebook to see what he\'s doing but if you\'re going to do so, please use it to document his gigs as well as his spending. Even if you can\'t get alimony, you can use it to bolster your case for equitable distribution that\'s a little more favorable to you.
Divorces are so unfair..the only thing sometimes you can be happy with is that you got your freedom back. Try and document his spending if you can, but a lot of times the courts don\'t worry about small stuff like that. It is what it is. At least you are free to decide your fate now..and not be stuck with someone who didn\'t value your life together the way he should
He pockets a lot of cash that the IRS does not even know about, so I might just poke him over that.
My STBX also pockets a lot of cash and doesn\'t report it to the IRS. I can come after some of it for child support, and I may, if he doesn\'t accept the settlement we\'re putting in front of him. It\'s frustrating though, having to prove that. Why are bad people rewarded while good people suffer? I am glad you are having a peaceful night at home.
My ex is self employed, lots of cash under the table, same with his dad and brother, why would he be any different? I\'m glad you\'re having a nice quite night at home, I am so restless that I can\'t enjoy anything right now! I got to get out of this funk.....soon! it\'s dragging me down. I work in sp ed too, not in the classroom but the stories we hear, I know exactly how you feel, you have a hard job and I know you don\'t make squat at your job. I wish I could help you out but I am in a financial mess myself ........we definately got the short end of our so called marriage and now divorce. so not fair but that\'s life. enjoy your weekend!!!!
Thank you all for your support on this. I don\'t want to be vindictive, I just want to be treated fairly. A lot of us have gotten the short end of the stick for sure.
It is hard to not want throw that stick right back at them. My Dad would tell me to drop the stick and move on. He is my best advisor.
Hugs to all of you.
Amy
