TENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS//our area manager resigned//found cold duck//did adoption of himalayan kitty

did another adoption today and have people to call back.  another black himalayan, the shy one, went to the woman who called two months ago who lives 45 minutes west of here.  i referred her to rescues near her house, because she is so far away.  i was trying to be helpful rather than her driving all that way.  she never went.  this has happened before.  so this time, i met with her and her daughter.  she chose the shyest one of the litter (second time that one had a hold on it).  its a female.  it should go well.  she has a 4 pound poodle as well and she says it was shy too.  her daughter is an emt and has a lot of pets of her own.
then tod called and says the black and white tom cat by his work that they were all feeding and he called me to treat its eye, that appeared injured or infected (we put it on doxycyline and teramycin ointment on its eye and it was fine after a week of that), we scheduled it to get fixed next week -- the cat isn't walking properly and he thinks it was hit by a car or something and has a broken leg!  i hope not!  its hissy and one of the girls at his work, is taking it home.  it needs to see a vet.  also his head gasket blew on his car, so he is biking to work.  when it rains it pours.
then headed into my office and discovered our area manager resigned on friday (the one that used to be a professional soccer player, that i knew in miami).  hmmmm?  area managers always only last two years with this company.  it will be two years in march and bam.  have no idea what happened as it appeared that all was going well.  the position he had though, ALL the area managers burn out within two years, because they give them too much territory to cover, and its physically impossible to do what the company wants.  those managers should have smaller territories.  this has been going on for about ten years now, one after the other leaving...the year i became supervisor here, we had THREE area managers in a row leave, two of them had strokes from the stress and were in the hospital.
then i check my mail and there is a written request for a change of hours by the old man that attempts to cause a lot of trouble here.  the old man barely works now.  are you kidding me?  also our phone isn't working properly and its a line that was recently fixed.
got back to my house and w was a prince and mowed my front lawn for me.  yay!   also went to the publix up here and they had cold duck!  yay!  that will be breakfast tomorrow.  lol.

As always I enjoyed reading your journal! I am feeding stray cat and not sure if it is still coming around. Food is gone but it is not showing up at the normal times anymore. So I am not sure what is eating the food after dark. But just by chance I still put it out there.

Other Manager, I hope the replacement person is nice and good to go. You are busy with adoptions, good to hear that.

How nice of W to mow the front yard. You need to get something special for him. I have not had cold duck in a long time. Bring back some memories. Love it. Take Care!!!

i shave the back of his neck for him as an exchange and i\'ve made him pineapple upside cake a few times as he likes those....he\'s one of those people that has everything. he\'s on my christmas list each year as well.

have another hold with adoptions. hope it goes through as this cat has had other holds, but that is part of the gig with sales of any sort.

the replacement manager was here, heard she isn\'t \"quite\" in yet and already mess up, instead of checking how things are done here, she showed up and started demanding to see people who aren\'t even here...really bad idea...this one may be overly eager. i\'m just holding my breath. the new ones never last and to be honest, our company normally doesn\'t treat them very well. really wish they had worked it out with the one before this as he hung on for almost the full two years, but what else is new....she started quoting rule book at one of the guys here....hmmmm if you are going to quote then use the actual book, the stuff she said is actually wrong. besides, its an office, there is leeway and being a pest, is no way to get started. i think the title they gave her for now is actually below my title because when i told her my title she was kind of uneasy, so i guess i\'ll have to check that out as well. people who play team sports generally are better bosses and co-workers, will actually miss the one we used to have.
