Ten Tips for a Tidy Home

Watching youtube again....

1. Set a timer for twenty minutes and clean and tidy every day for at least 20. Do the unusual jobs: vacuum out a window, and off a place that u normally wouldn't. But don't try to tackle all of it at one time.

Listen to music while cleaning

2. Keep cleaning products neat and orderly and make them nice. Buy cool cleaning towels, etc.

3. Make daily habits of cleaning while I go... not huge jobs... just simple tasks... each day

4. Make a "Drop zone" in the house... We have one but she is using a DRAWER. OUT OF SIGHT> I have never thought of that.

5. Have a donate box.... we need ours in the garage.... not in the house or my bedroom

6. Have a paper drawer / hers is in the kitchen. Hubby needs this bc he has receipts and papers EVERYWHERE. A drawer is a good idea. I need to make one for him in the jewelers desk

7. Give everything a home. I just bought a galvenized cute tub for our tv remote controls. That's where they belong now. I also have an open basket where the blowdryer and brushes go. We both use them and our one bath is tiny. So that's where they go.

8. Invest in quality cleaning tools. I really like my Rocket vacuum. I need to learn how to use it w/ a short handle and how to use the gadgets. It's very light weight but I still have to have a cord/ plug in. That's ok. I love my Rocket. My mom gave it to me.

She uses a spray mop. I used to use one but I got rid of it. I wonder if I need one again. I need to mop almost every day w/3 dogs.

9. The ONE TOUCH rule. Touch it once . / put it away. If i throw it on the couch, then I have to deal w/ it later. Take off the clothes and deal w/ them right then/ rehang it or put it in the dirty clothes basket. Makes good sense.

10. Do a quick pick up before you go to bed. I've done this as well. Good idea. Sometimes on "bad" days I let it get away from me....
