Technical Difficulties
I took the techno snot knot that scrambled my laptop Saturday to be a *Sign From Above* that I needed to disconnect from the e-web for a while. The weather on the bio-web was purty enough that it didnae feel like a hardship. We even had three visitors at the farm this weekend to make it feel even less of a hardship. Still no breakthroughs with the local community, but it was sweet to feel physical evidence of care from our remote communities. The children reacted to the visitors like puppies in need of petting. For the moment, we arenae worse. Still letting God lead the dance. Still wishing The Gnarly Old Dickhead would offer up some clues on what tune we are dancing to. Just wishing. . . Lead on, Old Gnarly.
The techno snot knot descrambled on its own somewhere in the course of the media fast, convincing me further that spiritual entities can scramble our e-pulses even more easily than they can part the bloody fields between estranged family members. Sh-h-h-h. . . Don't tell my psych team. Please spare me yet another theistic debate. I donae believe my heart cannae take the frivolous stress just now. Say ^it^ whatever way gets *my* life working in *your* head, my friend. I promise to give your words for ^it^ all DUE consideration.
How can it be the last day of the 5 day weekend already? Time do fun when you are having fly. . .

I also had computer issues. I have to start stepping away from my machine. Maybe look and talk to faces instead of two LCD monitors. The only thing is my machine does not argue with me.
It does get hard after a while to know when we need to step from the virtual back into the actual domain, so im glad you got your sign. Sounds like you got a much needed delving into the outdoor world. I was just thinking the same thing about the holiday weekend. I sneezed and its almost over . Ugh. But at least the last day is a pretty day where i am. Me thinks i see that big yellow thing in sky today. Tilts face upwards. Ahhhhh triple hugs
As a repeat absentee of the digital world, breaks from the online communities are often very necessary I’ve found. Divine tech signs are not necessary in my case. I have enough paranoia after getting hacked while in PTSD crisis mode to not need computer glitches to add to the fear of being hacked again.
Much empathy Arfie on this front. No theistic debates required. I have my own honed superstitions and signs that I’m sure the psych teams would love to pick apart so I completely understand not needing the additional stress. If anything it’s my weird and non traditional explanations and superstitions that bring me the most comfort. Blessed Anoia, goddess of things lost and stuck drawers is my patron saint lately and I don’t give a fig what my doctors think of it. A summer of pissing her off to point I couldn’t even do the dishes without risking physical harm, taught me not to challenge my theology.
Hugs and much love and support, Arfie!
Delete FaceBook NOW. I wasted years on that thing. I first caught up with people from grade school and highschool...fine. Then simply posted my photos ok....then posted nonsense. Posted photos of my meals...meh.
So then I simply realized that the people I grew up with, I only knew in name. They had their own lives did who knows what. So I deleted FaceBook. I feel great. No more checking for "likes". It was highly addictive for me. I am sure it stimulated a part of my brain. Not sure. It did not help my OCD out, thats for sure.
Thankfully I never said anything super abrasive or acidic on that thing. I think in the next few years, people will get off the social media platforms. I only am on Twitter to poke fun at mainly the orange admin.
Back in the bad old days (70's) when the entire CINCUSAEUR com center had less digital computing power than my current dumb phone, I started having recurring nightmares about the deafening hum of that cryotube equipment chasing me through endless halls of closed doors. I still have that recurring nightmare from time to time. The last few times I had the nightmare there were a few open doors in those endless halls of closed doors.
Dunno if it means anything, but I do solidly believe that my pre-video game career makes it easier to step away from the e-toys. To my conditioned senses, computers are still more tool than toy. I know better than to eat another cotton candy when my tummy hurts. Or am I lost in metaphor again? ? ?
Surfing on. . . Think I'll go google some goods on my goggles.
P.S.
My computers do far worse than argue with me, basement boy. The keep doing what I tell them to instead of what I want them to.
Damned machines. . . Where's that mind reading app? ? ?
Lets see, when on a road trip with my parents, we had paper maps...had to ask the old guy on the corner where something was. Hmm Oh phone booths. No GPS.
Those stupid paper maps, you could never fold them back to the original shape.
We are in the age of machines. We must all act like machines now.
Typewriters, word processors, computers, cassette tapes, vinyl records. 45's and 33 1/2. Have a pencil handy for your cassette tapes, dont leave them in the car. Then CDs came out. Now nerds just download mp3s onto a USB drive.
Funny, I wasn't able to check here yesterday, either. Coincidences abound....
Pasting my techno-superstitions with Druid Dogma, 'tis no coincidence that we are all in the thinning veil of The Samhain Moon and our ancestors have extra oomph in telling us to put away the e-thingies and pay attention to the world outside our e-boxes.
I suspect your machine imitations down so pat that they are no longer imitations, my gaffless gaffer. You have been assimilated. I'm pretty good at avoiding you Borg types, altogether. Not hard to do. I've yet to meet one of you I can't outrun, even at 65. So far, at least. . . Not that I am worried even on that score. Borg settlements have such bright lights that evasive manuevers are a no-brainer. Even a smart phone junkie can spot you 10 miles off. I mosey along in whatever direction is opposite of the smart phone junkie's drive for a fresh charge.
