Tears From A Stone
Big Sis has been using the words, "My Mommy Died" far, far more often than the "I'm a big girl" she used to parrot before the tragedy. I am far from certain she knows what those words mean, but the inside of a 3 year old mind is even more mysterious than the skewed neural pathways of my broken brain's most repressed regions. The big for sure is that, with all due respect to a loving soul who did the best she could with the lousy hand she was dealt at birth, the loss of my son hurts even worse than the loss of my daughter-in-law. My attempts to be the grown-up with her continual parroting of the phrase broke down yesterday to the pouring out of grief that Daddy died, too. I miss my *baby* boy. Prayers in progress that the onslaught of grown-up emotions didnae whelm her too terribly. It was a fearsome gush.
Over the course of the whelming, Big Bro and I began a dialogue about the nature of anger responses to fear and loss. He has witnessed more than one of my infamous outbursts out of rage in defense of my open, bleeding and/or infected psychic wounds. I suspect the base legends of Smiley Kaserne and its host region have grown one or three of my pre-therapy outbursts into new Urban Myths by now. I really have sent NCO clubs full of horny GIs running for the safety of their preachers. I donae wish to release such a force on a 6 year old, nay even an identified boy bully. Nay even *I* will tempt the security forces of today's girl bullies. Well. . . Not much. . . Reflex can be a bear to manage. With empowerment comes responsibility, my empowered Barbie. Get up off your empowered victimhood and roll up those designer sleeves. Put some dings in those cutesy pictures on your manicure!
Correcting my politics now. . . Beehaving. . . Where's my walk-in medicine chest?
There be nary a doubt that raging is far, far easier than letting my heart beat true. I miss my baby boy.

The first two loves of my gentle son's life were EBB (Empowered Barbie Brutal) in their rejection of his affection. One of them had a mother who threatened to file a sexual harassment for the crime of a Junior High crush. Nice neighboring with you, my private school queen. I hope your new gated community has gates strong enough to keep you in.
Can cleavage down to the navel and skin tight miniskirts be called sexual harassment yet? Get your titties out of my face, woman. Trust me. I don't want my attention there, either. I damn sure don't want my pre-adolescent son's attention there.
arfie, it's something that you reach through all of the anger about losing him to embrace how much you miss your baby boy, as you put it here. That does seem like what is most true to the heart, just as you say. Sending you support for that embrace.
As angry as I am with the middle aged brattery attached to this tragedy, there remains truth in the old wive's tale that your baby will always be your baby, no matter how sharp the serpent's tooth or even the lengthening of that serpent's tooth.
35 is still too young to give up hope. Was. . .
Arfie,
Yes, Despite the relationship we have with our children...they are always our babies. Sometimes it is easy for me to be angry about my now years estranged daughter, but, when I remember her as a baby I can't be angry. May you have peace thru mourning your baby boy.
Of course you do..... I will just hug you and keep you in my prayers.....xo
IDK, in my heart your tears happening with the little gd gave her two things that she can take in....first going outside of herself, second to know she has someone who shares her sadness about her Mom. She is learning it's ok to have feelings....Amazing the gift your tears brought to Big Brother in being able to talk with him so he can learn what is going on in his own heart and God Willing Please I pray, have a different experience at school. In my own book, tears, washing away the pain of the heart, are a symbol of strength, being able to become vulnerable and real are a form of strength in you from your insides and outsides
The overwhelming events of loss, then taking on all three kids, and the 'challenged adults' at the school for gs, GS is a Great Kid that is hurting So Much Inside and he doesn't have the words to express his pain and confusion. Sending healing thoughts today that you'll and All will find some ??? to bring relief and a better understanding by all those who are on the outer-skirts of your losses. hugs

The process continues; the roller coaster ride has not ended. Progress is being made at its own slow pace. Healing hugs and prayers.
