The state-wide crop has ranged from a high of 17,180 tonnes – about 1.24 million dozen – in 2017 to 12,308 tonnes in 2020. The trend line is consistently increasing, however, with the rapid planting of more vineyards sorrenberg chardonnay 2019 as demand grows. Was quick to find attention, curiously for cabernet sauvignon and riesling initially, but it was not long before interest in chardonnay swelled, for both sparkling and table wines.

Bianca by KT is made from Vermentino grown by the Koerner family in the hamlet of Leasingham in the Clare Valley. Vermentino is a white grape variety that originally heralds from the island of Sardinia in Italy and is enjoyed for its resistance to dry and warm conditions and its high natural acidity. This wine is created using wild fermentation techniques, meaning 100% indiginous yeast and partially fermented in older French oak barrels.
2018 Barringwood Chardonnay, A$36, started with a subtle nose, showing savoury complexity. This led to nicely married flavours of stone fruits, savoury hints and further complexity from development. The wine gained top points from Byrne, who thought it “bright and fresh, with nice texture and saliva-drawing acidity”. The pale colour and slow ageing show that this has a good future ahead. A pure and tightly wound wine showing the muscle and intensity of the low yielding East Coast site, and the fragile acid line synonymous with fine Tasmanian Chardonnay.

This wine is oxidatively handled and fermented in a blend of stainless steel and fifteen-year-old French oak barriques for 12 months. This slightly off-dry style has savoury qualities that show that Riesling can indeed come in many different shapes and sizes. A luscious, refreshing Pinot Gris with white pepper, fresh green herbs and ripe mango bound in a lassoo of acidity. This wine is all about mouthfeel – it’s got depth, viscocity, and richness while staying deliciously clean and deceptively moreish. "A flavourful chardonnay with citrus and stone fruits cradled harmoniously by a structure of nutty oak." - Ben Riggs, Winemaker. The fruit was sourced from a single Adelaide Hills vineyard.

Bangor is a 6,200 hectare property farmed since the 1830’s for supplying beef to the Port Arthur Settlement, and cared for by the Dunbabin family since the 1890’s. With over 5,100 hectares of native forests and wetlands, 35 kilometers of coastline and 2,100 hectares of private conservation reserve, caring for the environment is a way of life at Bangor.
Strict government health and safety requirements and very high parcel volumes are causing significant backlogs at the main NSW and VIC sorting facilities. Orders are still arriving safe and sound but you may notice slower delivery times and less frequent scanning updates than usual. With a wealth of experience garnered at wineries such as Bay of Fires, he has revitalised the Meadowbank label and returned it to its place as one of the must-watch vineyards in Tasmania. What you see here today has literally been built from the ground up. This delightful wine showcases the fantastic flavours of the Chardonnay fruit without the influence of oak. Orders in the Blue Zone will be delivered on Tuesdays and Fridays. Everything outside these zones will be delivered by Australia Post. This is the first second of a Chardonnay under the Dr. Edge label. The concept is the same as his Tasmania Pinot Noir, where he combines fruit from across the state to produce a Chardonnay which encapsulates the character of the vintage.
