Tao Verse 51

Today's reading encouraged me to

let go of thinking... trying to figure "it" out. Let go of thought process and allow myself to just be cloaked in peace of the Way.

Let go of premeditated expectations of society, family, others, religion, parents (did that a long time ago).

Live by virtue / that comes and lives within. Refuse to be victimized by the expectations of others. Practice feeling safe and protected.

The Tao produces and thrives and lives. It does not possess. Live without dominating others. Live without controlling others ... people, places and things. The control is illusion.

Very very powerful. I love the Tao.

In "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior," Dan Brown describes the mind as a deep pool of water and thoughts as pebbles which break the peaceful surface of the pool with splashy chops and ripples.

Over-thinking and second-guessing EVERYTHING was/is a major psych symptom for my anxious mind. The first time I meditated with Mister Brown's image, I grew an image of myself standing by the side of the pool, throwing rocks by the hands-full in non-stop, rapid succession. Over-thinking and second-guessing remain a mean symptom for me, but. . . Works in progress. . . Progress over perfection.
