Taking time out from life

I'm still in my bed, second day in a row. I will get up today for sure. Sometimes it all gets to be too much and I can feel my body crying out for rest. I was a long distance runner and the toll it took to train and condition my body feels like the fight I have with pain and stress. I shut down on occasion. No guilt or recriminations, just reboot my systems and plod on. My allergies have been acting up a little but that's not entirely to blame. I've been reading a lot, under some self designed pressure to complete my books for.review. I noticed dark circles under my eyes, and an increase in pain so down I go, bed rest mandatory. I can't expect to have everyone take care of me if I don't take care of myself. Even my elderly dog rested and had to be woken for his walkies. I found him at my bedside and almost stepped on him when I finally had to get up. He'd been watching over me all the time. I am so blessed. I read a little, for fun, I swear. I'm glad in a way that my phone never rings, I don't have to work and I have no young kids to care for now. Being mostly alone has its appeal. My spouse knows when to let me rest completely but I know he checks on me often. I'm so grateful he understands now but that wasn't always the story. Off to sleep now. More later.

I wont say goodmorning, I don\'t want to wake you up. Be sure to stay hydrated.

I am glad your husband understand and you and the dog laying by your bed is so sweet. They are really man\'s bestfriend.

It\'s great that you listen to your body and rest, Dar. I know what you mean about the phone not ringing. It\'s almost a nuisance when it does ring! I\'m feeling grateful for my understanding husband, my fur babies that lay close beside me, my lovely home. I tell people who want to know how I cope with living in pain that it may make me live in a cage of isolation, but it\'s a gilded cage. And if I want companionship, my friends are a phone call away. They come to me. I hope you can enjoy some sunshine tomorrow. Gentle hugs ~ Karen
