Taking Out The Trash...
Last night's lesson (actually the final one) in Divorce Care was all about getting rid of the "emotional trash". For me... worry, anxiety and fear are big ones standing in my way. It was mentioned when I do start to second guess or doubt myself (or the next step shown to me to point me toward what is actually intended for me) to stop and see where it is coming from. Doing this, I have come to realize those doubts come from a life time of trusting and hearing several very dysfunctional and hurtful people in my past.
I know not everyone is religious or has faith (but most of us do fare better with SOMETHING or SOMEONE to believe in.) It was to remind me to have faith and remember God, his love and mercy he does show us. To stop doubting and wasting time and energy on the what ifs and instead focus on the positives, blessings and lessons learned to help me in the future. That was another very big point made....Stop living and looking to the past.... Instead, concentrate, focus and pray for guidance and direction toward those steps toward a future.
I have learned and felt for some time that all those things I have been through, people who have touched my life (on here or in the "real world") have all served as pebbles on my path pointing me toward that happier ,healthier life. I consider myself lucky that HE has been gracious enough to provide these lessons ( and special people) to guide me. I think a last article for me is to allow myself the freedom to finally have the courage and perseverance to do what I have wanted for close to 2 years now....
TO START OVER ... perhaps find someone who does want to share the same.... or maybe just to simply BE who I am and what I want and need to do and be... to find happiness , contentment and perhaps share just what I have with others . (Something I do find as I share my story with others also struggling. )
I am thankful for all the blessings I am given... INCLUDING MANY OF YOU HERE. :) Thanks!

Veggie, in life we dont have any choices on how or when we will die However we do have the choice on how we want to live.
veggie, one thing that you need to do is be gentle with yourself. It takes about 1 year for every 4 year of a relationship to heal. Take as much "me" time as you need. It took me over 6 years to start feeling good about myself and now I am doing great. It has been 11 years next month that I filed for separation and 8 years since the divorce. You will be fine. That doubt will surface from time to time. But know where it is coming from and why. Having a "pity party" is fine. But do not try to hang on to that too long. Hugs
By allowing others, to "show you the way" so to speak, is a gift to them as well. In Heaven, giving and receiving are the same.
God Bless
amen
You are spot on. Faith in what form we have is everything. Because with it is the only way to find joy. Faith in knowing that we don’t need to waste energy worrying about an unknowable future. We do what we can today and let it go. Such a simple and complex thing.
