Taking it one day at a time
I spent 5 days with my daughter in Denver. I love the western states and miss them from my childhood. I had a good talk with her. At 23 she is really needing a large amount of separation from me. She has anger over the divorce but will not open up. She refuses counseling so I just try to stick to my new established boundaries. As Mom I want all to be well and be able to share feelings with her but I think I am expecting too much. She seems to want to try things the hard way. I just need patience.

Setting and keeping boundaries is so important. It\'s unfortunate that so many of us didn\'t know about this until we had to go through divorce. Your daughter may never be up to hearing about your feelings...especially as they relate to the divorce. Best to keep that stuff to yourself and just focus on loving her and your relationship with her.
How true thanks for the reminder.
