Take Away
Take Away Instead of Christmas gifts for me Come take some things away There’s so much here that I don’t want ... So please… don’t give just take Take away my knowledge Of funerals, urns and graves And take away the guilt I have For not being with her to save Take away these inward screams that resonate her death And take away my begging To give her back her breath Take away my heartache That leaves me living in pain And take away all the years After this sadness came Take away this loneliness That stays throughout the year And take away this horror That just won’t disappear Take away that empty space She no longer occupies Take away these tears of mine That forever fill my eyes Take away this silence That remind me that she’s gone Take away my wondering How did things go so wrong Take away all my questions why That cause never ending grief And take away the doubting That has shattered my beliefs Please take away these things Most of all her untimely death But please don’t take my memories They’re all that I have left Written by Christine Ross @2006 In Memory of Lucas Christopher Ross 1979 -2001 Christine writes beautiful poetry. I borrowed the above and adapted it by using the feminine case… These words echo the cries of my heart and I imagine they will yours also. I did write to Christine before posting this to make sure it was okay with her. Christine as always was very gracious and added her invitation to mine. This is so trueThe thing is, nobody else can \"Take away\" what hurts us--except US--It does take awhile though--to garner enough strength just to crawl out of the hole, to stand and THEN do battle with all that opposes recovery i.e. to \"take away\"No wonder we\'re all so weary along the road during the rough and roughshod early daysLove, Donna
