Take A Hike
Tuesday, April 15, 2008 -- 3:35 PM Whenever I am entering a journal entry in red, it usually means that I am venting about something. This is one of those days and times. In the last week, or so, I have been amazed at the number of people here at Daily Strength who are self-centered and selfish. They care very little about the people here who truly need encouragement, support, and help. I have noticed that the selfish people (primarily in the new Member Groups) are now complaining about those of us who openly express our problems. They say we are whiners, and that we spread feelings of unhappiness wherever we go. Maybe I missed something here, but I thought the main purpose of Daily Strength was to be a safe haven to those of us who needed help. I have always considered it a place where I can openly express my feelings of pain and anger, and have an opportunity to talk with others who had similar problems. Daily Strength is also a place where I can talk with many friends who will listen to me with a caring ear as I pour out any pains and sorrows that I may have. Sometimes I just need someone to be there for me, and they have never disappointed me by not being there. I still feel that way to this very day. I have a brief message to those selfish and inconsiderate people who feel they are better than anyone else is. If all you want in life is to play fun and games, then this is not the place for you. Do yourselves -- and us -- a favor. Take a hike and don't come back!
