Tamshui/Danshuei is a pretty easy day trip using the MRT from Taipei and I recommend a walk along the riverfront as well as a visit to the restaurants on Old Street — the food is cooked using fresh ingredients. There are also a couple of old forts that are worth visiting as tourist attractions. You could also take a boat ride to get a different perspective of the city from the riverfront to Fisherman's Wharf. I believe the boat operators take the easy card but when I was there they preferred if you bought a ticket.

The only attraction we really enjoyed today at an admission fee of 450 NTD each was the National Museum of Marine Biology. This is more an aquarium than a museum and we both enjoyed the experience to the point that we spent a lot longer there than I had planned. These comments apply to many of the “attractions” we visited today.

Built in 1976 the pagodas have intricate and colourful eaves and carvings and appear well maintained. You approach the pagodas via zig zag walkway over the water and enter the dragon’s mouth symbolizing courage. After viewing the pagodas and taking many pics we exit the Tiger’s mouth escaping danger. First stop is Chikeshan which we reached by deviating probably about 20kms off our route, about 12kms of it up a narrow, at times quite steep and very winding road.
I went solo and travelled around the whole country and i managed. You can't go to Taiwan and not visit a few of them. It's a foodie's paradise and it's quite cheap, too! Tokyo and Taipei are the best places for people who enjoy doing a lot of eating whilst overseas. The people are super friendly, very helpful and will even walk you to your destination if you're lost.

Port Location - The main pier, Tha Dan, is located 9km south of the town of Phang-Nga. The two islands are forest-covered with steep shores. They lie in the north-western part of the Phang Nga Bay, some 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) from the main land, amidst a group of a dozen of other islands. The island has a few caves and two sandy beaches, on the south western part and between the twin islands. The best view of the rocks and the bay is gained from a small path, which ascends steeply on the right of the beach at the place where the boats land. Numerous traders sell souvenirs on the beach and there are also some refreshment stalls.
