If you are taking the train from 伴手禮 Taipei down to Taitung, select the seats on the left and seats on the right if you are travelling up from Taitung for unobstructed views of the ocean. I found the town interesting and scenic and well worth the visit on your way up the east coast. Active holidaymakers will enjoy a trek across Elephant Mountain — great for those that like to put on their hiking boots and climb their way to stunning views.
You can hire a local taxi for a day at a set price to follow your itinerary. Many taxi drivers offer a full-day tour and usually know where to take you. This option comes in handy when you don’t have any specific itinerary. Visit SuSu Second-Hand Bookstore & Guesthouse in the city center and play with the local owners’ two pet cats who call 台東寒單餅 the shelves their home. This time round she took us through Yunnan’s western corridor of ancient cities and towns amidst one of the most breath-taking high-altitude sceneries from snowy mountain peaks to crystal clear water lakes. We came back home from our Yunnan trip not only with a lasting impression of scenic high-altitude pollution-free Yunnan but also a new-found knowledge of its many tribes’ cultural heritage. For adventurous travelers, I recommend driving up the mountain to La Wei of Forest Coffee Plantations. It is super challenging to drive off-road up the unlighted hills. (We had many doubtful moments and almost attempted to turn around.) But the nocturne view of the lighted city below and glowing moon in the sky makes the adventure so worthwhile.
There are two Giant outlets in Taitung, you should return the bike to new Taitung train station. 加路蘭海岸 Jialulan, one of the best spot to see stars and milky way in Eastern Taiwan! Taitung is not a small county, but most of the activities are conveniently located in the “small” town area. A bot, or robot, or crawler is software that visits web sites and collects data from them without a human present. Search engines like Google use robots to build up search results.

Their Taiwan Excellence and MEET TAIWAN balloon once again took part in the Taiwan International Balloon Festival. The world-famous balloon festival helps to launch both Taiwan Excellence and MEET TAIWAN further onto the world stage. The 2020 Taiwan International Balloon Festival officially kicked off on July 11, where the Taiwan Excellence and MEET TAIWAN joint balloon gracefully rose to the sky in Luye, Taitung. Another great thing about Best was that she followed up to see that we had arrived safely in Japan and also our trip home.

The structure is framed on the north and south by the National Theater and National Concert Hall. The East Coast of Taiwan features many stunning natural scenic spots. Yet public transportation is not very convenient; and joining a tour would be a stress-free, time-efficient way to travel. Unless you have local resources , I highly recommend joining these tours on the East Coast for efficiency’s sake.
Unfortunately, Hight Speed Rail does not travel through the mountainous East Coast.
Overall, we enjoyed the walk and snacks, the vibrancy in a seemingly quiet town. At least half the stalls are amusement - e.g. shooting balloons - and there isn’t a lot of variety in the food stalls. It’s an ok night market if you’re not expecting something bigger.
Fried sweet potato balls, takoyaki, beef steaks, beef cubes, fried chicken legs, etc. As the sender, it’s your responsibility to make sure your items don’t break any laws or rules – both within Australia and in the destination country. Import Permits shall be waived for postal items, which are not on the Import Restriction List, within US $20,000 in value. Taiwan requires an import permit for many goods including all commercial items. The selected fine coffee beans are second to none in the world combined with the exquisite coffee culture.
