Taitung must eat Delicacy
We spent a couple of hours viewing the exhibits, but this remarkable collection, so very well presented deserves more like a full day. It's well worth your time and money to visit the top of Taipei 101. The shopping mall in the bottom is as high end as one would expect, and the food court has some excellent and not overly expensive food. December, January, and 伴手禮 台東 February are the best time for me to visit. I don't mind cool but hot and humid and wandering about isn't great. You'll want to prepare a jacket if you're visiting the country in between July and August, which is mid-winter.
The weather is ok – a little humid, but not hot. Gets a bit cold when everywhere is air conditioned. Another question – what's the best way to get around? Is hiring a car an option/would you recommend it?

Hmm i stayed at Dong Wu Hotel in January this year, i mean it was pretty easy to get around although you need to change train line to get to the red train line.
I think if that's the case, will stay near the main station, as there will be good train connection between the HSR station and main station, which should be easier with suitcases. It is about $35 aussie and you get unlimited hotpot for 2 hours. Seafood, meat from Australia, Japan and New Zealand. I didn't have time to visit Tainan but i did visit Kaohsiung for a short time.

Pick up handicraft souvenirs and check the schedule for live aboriginal music shows. Visit Ata Aboriginal Culture Craft to watch handmade glass bead creation and to buy textiles, bead art and leather goods. Inn by the Village is set in Taitung City and is within a short walk of nearby landmarks, including Tiehua Music Village. In addition to free private parking on site, the hotel offers comfortable 3-star rooms and a bar.
