Taitung City Guide
It was originally an old warehouse and dormitory of the Taiwan Railway. Through the hands of the artists, here a blend of music and literary creation, has become a new highlight of the night in Taitung. There are not common night market merchandise on the market stalls, but a lot of hand-made temperature creations, it is worth slowly taste, enjoy. There are often different musical events or street art performances here. Personally, I think it is a place to visit in Taitung. Today we travel south and east to the Sun Moon Lake, the largest lake in Taiwan.
You could probably even check out Kaohsiung too since it's not that far from Tainan. I booked a trip, also after Taipai where should I go as a second city. Taipei 台東必買 101 Observation Deck – only visit on a clear day. Come out and turn right and you will see all 3 shops in one location, all you need is your passport.
My plan is to travel Taiwan but obviously i am a little short on time. I won't spend any time in Taipei but i have to catch a flight there. You could probably do Tainan in two days, take the HSR from Taipei and it'll be less than 90 mins.
The same cannot be said for our second stop at the Anping Fort. We fought over parking with several other drivers, eventually finding a space and after quite a long walk, found the fort. Originally built in 1634 as Fort Zeelandia by the conquering Dutch, the Qing Army later demolished it and instead built the Eternal Golden Castle.
The Tiandeng Police Station has a light show in addition to every half of the afternoon from 4pm to 7pm . As well as the local characteristics of Pingxi, there is also a customized "Bollywood Wishing Lights". Visitors can write or paste their wishes, wishes or photos on the postcard of the Polaris Skylight.
Disembark from the boat this afternoon and proceed to Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery, the largest Buddhist monastery in Taiwan. Stroll around the monastery on a walking tour and learn more about Buddhism as you explore this sacred place. Taste a Buddhist vegetarian lunch , chat with some of the monks and discover the towering Buddha Statue in the Main Shrine. Later, travel by coach to Kaohsiung - the second largest city in the country and visit the Love River and a local Night Market.

There is E-DA Theme Park in kaohsiung though but not sure how good it is. Taoyuan MRT – This is one way to move between TPE Airport and Taipei. The bus is cheaper than the MRT but you may risk getting caught in traffic. MRT costs NT$160 pp to go from the Airport to Taipei. Take the Express rather than the Commuter train.
It's likely something will be on while you visit. You can find the venue 40 kilometres away in Taitung. Hop in the car and journey to Yushan National Park, 45 kilometres away from Chishang. You can also enjoy some fresh air at Liushidan Mountain, 16 kilometres away. You'll want to prepare a jacket if you're visiting the country in between July and August, which is mid-winter. Generally, the hottest months are November through March, during the country's summer.
