Survived the Blizzard
Well, we survived the blizzard, but it really wasn't as bad as predicted. The area to the east of us got hit pretty hard, but it's probably not the worst they've ever seen, either.
We're still waiting to hear from 5 of the 7 colleges my daughter applied to. Once that happens, then we can pinpoint which scholarships to apply for. I'm still nervous about the financial part of all this, but I feel like I have more knowledge than I used to, so that's somewhat calming.
My son seems to be making one improvement in his life so far: being awake during the day and sleeping at night. Sounds silly, I know, but for him, that is a good step.
The dog is still in decline, but holding his own. He's had more accidents, but I wouldn't say it's out of control. He seems to do better when I make sure he "does his business" than when DH does. He's getting more reluctant to go down his ramp, partly because he slipped off of it once. But we absolutely must use it, so I'm careful to physically guide him down now.
And me? I'm doing OK. I've really, really, really got to loose some weight; my pants are getting uncomfortably tight. So I'm working on cutting back on the snacking. I think I've gotten to the pre-holiday level of snacking, which is good, and the pre-holiday level of exercise! I'm also working on being mindful of my spending. I'm continuing with Women's Bible Study, but need to get better about keeping on top of the homework (instead of doing it last minute).
Just a side note on Mean Sister: after my birthday, she said "we really need to get together after work to celebrate", but she needed to check her schedule. I told her when I was available, so the ball's in her court. We'll see if it happens.
