Surrender
If there was ever anyone dreaming about having children, it was me. I still dream about it. But I refuse to be consumed by it anymore. I am done obsessing. It is time to breath and be in the moment.
I was the person who would track my periods, get ovulation kits every month, take my prenatal vitamins every month, and wait two long weeks with a digital pregnancy tests because I like my answers in words. And nothing. I still take my prenatal vitamins, but only because I like them!
Have you noticed that people who get pregnant are usually the ones who a) don’t want it b) don’t think about it. C) try to prevent it. Maybe that’s the secret. Maybe when you stop wanting it so much or caring about it , that’s when it happens. Well, I have nothing to lose so I am going to try that approach.
Don’t get me wrong, I still want children more than anything in this world! The difference is that I finally surrender and accept my situation. 3 and half years of trying without results will do that to you. I am stepping out of the darkness and starting to embrace my life the way it is.
My husband is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He is the most supportive, wonderful and caring person. We are very happy together, and if God wants us to be child-free, then I am going to accept that, at least for now.
