SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE!

The homeless lady showed up with the dog food my X is supposed to bring over every month, WITH $34 for the vet bill (which was $44).  I'm not gonna bother asking about the rest - it's possible the homeless lady took the other $10 (which is fine with me - she needs it more than me and SHE's been the one delivering the dog food this past year), or this may be all he had available.  I've decided to not even bother mentioning he owes me another $30 as well....

Why?  Because I received 2 checks this past weekend - my inheritance, in FULL!  It just amazes me how far I can get in life just with the word "NO" and meaning it.

So that means, I'm done.  No more stress, no more family from hell issues.... I SURVIVED.  And I did it well!

So I set the alarm early so I could begin to really focus on myself now (fitness wise) AND... put my back out by sleeping wrong.   And yesterday, I was making a painted craft for one of my friends for Christmas (she ordered it) and just as I was putting on the final clear coat... rust from inside the paint can sprayed all over it, ruining 3 days of work.   A lesson to me to remain humble I guess, lol.

One of my dog sitting people called, wanted to know if I was free to watch their dog this weekend... don't need the money anymore, but I agreed anyways.   I LOVE DOGS.  And staying home will give me the opportunity to make another craft for my friend...

And up next... the dreaded call to the electrician to check out a short.  I have a feeling what he's gonna tell me the whole house may need rewiring and that's gonna be ugly.   Oh well....  LATER!

Your life is so coming together right now. Whether you need the money or not take the dog sitting jobs and start an emergency fund. Set up an online savings for your dog sitting money. That way it will be safe from the urge to spend it unwisely. I\'m not saying you do that but I know how tempted I get.

I hate it when I get up in the morning and something hurts. Usually my shoulder from the injury I had when darling Zee bucked me off in a round pen.

You have so many positives happening in your life right now and you certainly deserve these great things. You have your inheirtance in your hand and boy life must be great for you now.

I\'m still in shock that it\'s going so well, lol. Since I put the checks in the bank, silly things go through my mind... like, I could buy this... or this... or this... one of the downsides of not having had money before. But yesterday, I went out and bought work clothes - just enough so that I don\'t have to do laundry more than once a week now. For most people, that\'s a silly thing to mention, but I haven\'t been clothes shopping for almost 10 years. Everything I own was a hand-me-down that didn\'t quite fit right because money was always so tight. I spent $30 and feel like I splurged, lol. So, despite the temptations, I\'m gonna continue living like normal. Buy just want I need, save the rest.... well, ok, gonna splurge on the doggies - new doggie beds, some grooming tools, reflective leashes and vests for late night walks. AND, gonna pay off my 2 loans, so that all I\'ll have left is a house payment and utilities - put the extra money left from each paycheck aside with the rest. There is enough to pay off the house completely - but the X gets half the equity if I sell, so that would mean throwing that money away to him. NOT going there. :)

So happy for you that you finally have your inheritance! Like Trisha said your life is so coming together right now.! I also know how you feel about finally being able to have the things others take for granted like work clothes! But I also know how you need to stay humble! Right now I am seesawing between should I fix the air conditioning on my car or hope I can buy a new car before next summer or when ever I need the air? Ha, Ha! and then because I am saving almost all of my earned income to buy this car with cash, I start to hate the idea of losing all that savings in one swoop! But if I want a new car(at least newer than 1995)its what will have to happen. I wont\' have enough saved until next April or May and that assumes I don\'t have any emergencies, etc. My X\'s car has not left his driveway in over 2 weeks, I am starting to worry he has lost his job. But then as soon as I start to panic about how I will pay my bills, I tell myself this is why you are saving your money, you are ahead of the game, you will survive and lose nothing. He could lose his house, retirement, etc. I know he is not on vacation because he is a consultant and does not get time off unless company is closed. Sorry this is so long, should put this in my journal. But I AM SO HAPPY for YOU that you have your inheritance and that life will run more smoothly for you! Do what Trisha says and always look and take opportunities to make more money. Funny thing about money, you can never have to much! (((HUGS)))

This is all great news! Gee, I wish my dead relatives had \"left\" me something besides my good looks and arthritis. LOL.
Don\'t let this windfall lull you into a sense of complacency! Be frugal and put that money to work for you -- the stock market is iffy, but put it SOMEWHERE that will earn you a return on your money...short-term CDs or something.

Wow awesome!! Enjoy the wonderful feeling.
Isn\'t it crazy how we cannot believe it when things go right.
We have obviously been so programmed from our pasts to expect things to go wrong.
Good for you! You deserve this break in life, so enjoy it!!

CD\'s aren\'t paying anything. Look at online savings accts. that are FDIC insured. I was in HSBC and their rates went too low. Try Smartypig. It\'s paying 1% interest and it\'s easy to join. It\'s FDIC insured and you can get the money out pretty quickly.

I know what you mean about having a weeks worth of work clothes so you don\'t have to wash clothes so often. I need some more cheap work jeans.
