surgery scheduled

Well, after several weeks of tests, they have scheduled my sweet husband for his surgery.  They had told us that if it looked like the valve was really badly prolapsed that the surgery would be scheduled within a 2 week period.  If not, it may be as long as 6 weeks out.  Well. guess what!!!  Yesterday they gave us a date of Feb. 5.  Guess that means it is as bad as we had thought.  He will spend the first 3 days out of surgery in ICU and a total of at least 10 days hospitalized.  We will be going back next week to have additional pre-op testing, which will include meeting with the therapy people.  The good news is that they think they can repair the valve instead of replacement.  But, either way they will be opening up his heart & chest.  Our faith is strong in the Lord, but never-the-less, we are still kinda freightened about all this.  There is so much that lies on the path ahead, over which we have never traveled.  The unknown is always freightening to all of us humans and we are no exceptions in this.
