Surgery Date Set!
Hey Everyone! It's been a while since I've written one of these, I hope everyone is either doing well or recovering blockage free!
So I went to go see the Neurologist the other day because my migraines have increased big time since my remicade treatment dropped to every 4 weeks. I expected to walk out with an MRI or Cscan appt, nope! The neuro told me that he thinks the remicade is giving me migraine like symptoms, that its making my brain swell and that it could possibly give me septic menengitis...and the only way to test his theory is to have a spinal tap! Well needless to say if I wasn't crapping my pants from having UC, hearing this news almsot made me! A spinal tap, really?!?
So as freaked out as I was, I called my GI doctor immediately after leaving my appointment and he pretty much confirmed what the neuro said. He also told me that the remicade is what is most likely causing these migraines and I should stop taking it and call the surgeon to tell her its time for the surgery.
So I played a little phone tag with a few doctors and the surgeon and scheduled my surgery today! April 5th! And I also finished my prednisone today, but that may change since I shouldn't do the next infusion, I'll have to ask my GI doctor when I go to see him next week. Butttt I'm excited to get this over with and get my life back..Theres only so much you can do being home for as long as I have LOL I'm ready!
