Support Kilimanjaro Africa's Highest Summit

Mount Kilimanjaro stands on a featureless part of the East African-american plateau, on the Tanzanian side of the Kenya line near Moshi, alongside with the smaller Install Meru. These mountains are extinct volcanoes, with Kilimanjaro really being the agglomeration of three different volcanoes, Kibo (5896m/ 19,340 ft), Mwenzi (5,149 / 16,896 ft) and Shira (3,962m / 13,000 ft). Kilimanjaro's crazy formation is geologically associated with the development of the Good Rift Pit, 100km to the West.


Mount Kilimanjaro was born of the catastrophic activities in the Earth's crust that produced the Great Rift Valley that goes from the Red Ocean through Tanzania to Southern Africa. Around 25 million years back East Africa was an enormous level basic that buckled and ruptured after the African-american and Eurasian Continental Plates rebounded down each other producing big rifting and weak areas in the loss crust that resulted in the synthesis of several volcanoes in the region. Where the initial area was deepest, the volcanic task was greatest ultimately building the large volcanoes of Ngorongoro Crater on the Rift itself and a chain of volcanoes to the East including Meru, Kenya and Kilimanjaro.


Support Kilimanjaro has five important ecological areas and the activity within all these is managed by the five factors of elevation, rainfall, temperature, flora and fauna. Each region consumes an area approximately 1000m in altitude and is at the mercy of a corresponding reduction in rainfall, heat and living from the forest upwards.


The East African mountains have produced a micro-climate around themselves and the rain-shadow produced with their South and East items the beautiful and superbly fertile land in that the cities of Moshi and Arusha are positioned, high in blueberry groves and espresso plantations. Kilimanjaro National Park comprises all of the pile above the tree line and six forest corridors that stretch through the forest belt.


Mount Kilimanjaro National Park is the area over 2,700 yards on the mountain. Kilimanjaro National Park includes the moorland and highland locations, Shira Plateau, Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Additionally, the Kilimanjaro Park has six corridors or rights of way through the Kilimanjaro Forest Reserve. The Forest Reserve, which will be also a Game Reserve, was recognized in 1921 the Park was established in 1973 and formally exposed in 1977.


Origin of the name "climb kilimanjaro"


There are many explanations for how the Install Kilimanjaro got its title and there is no-one to agree what's the truth. "Mountain of Greatness", Pile of Whiteness", "Mountain of Caravans", are titles derived from the Swahili and Chagga dialects.


From the little we all know about them, it's believed it might have something regarding the Swahili term "kilima", this means "the surface of the hill ".There's also a state that the phrase "kilemakyaro" exists in the Chagga language, indicating "difficult journey ".But the simple truth is that nobody actually knows.

In the second century AD, Ptolemy, the Greek astronomer and cartographer, wrote of mysterious lands to the South of current day Somalia that covered "man-eating barbarians" and a "good snow pile ".This knowledge he should have received from the Phoenicians, who had circumnavigated Africa by that date. Ptolemy's consideration stands as the very first reported reports of Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro.
