Support Group
My husband and I attended a support group last evening. It was incredibly emotional as we shared our stories. Some people found it incredibly uncomfortable. I think it was good for me as I met people who are struggling as much as me.
Joe was not comfortable - as he says, he is not a private person and sharing stuff with strangers is not his style. However he did express his feelings and it resonated with one of the other dads. I (and my counsellor) think it would be good for him to stay but he has a photography class on Wed nights from next week on.
We were told that last night was the most difficult session as we were spilling our guts to strangers.
Now we are at our son's house - our daughter-in-law is having a hysterectomy tomorrow. We are all be antsy.

Hello Marlene, Thinking of you and your daughter in law. How is she doing? I am glad you tried a support group. It is good to have people in your own geographic area who understand. Your husband will have to decide what works for him. For me, that is a big part of this journey; figuring out what helps and what doesn\'t and how on God\'s green earth I will ever be able to fashion a new life? But I will and so will you. Thanks Linda. Tiina had her surgery. She apparently did well. She is zonked on Morphine right now. Andrew is with her. They were very kind and broke the rules and allowed him in to the waiting room just prior to surgery.
I will definitely continue with the support group.
Having you and the other moms on line has been a tremendous help. I am so glad I found this site!
