Support groups

I started back on my support group.... Geo doesn't want me going since I talk about our relationship (rocky) and over the summer the leader of the group brainwashed me into thinking Geo was abusing me. I moved everything out without even talking to him (He was with his family on vacation) and put him and his family through hell. Things aren't perfect, but we are working it out.
The election was hard. The boss (called a Clerk) didn't like me. I told her that I have bad feet and it hurts to stand, and she said okay. Then maybe an hour later she tells me that I've been sitting too long and i have to walk around and help people. It took an hour before someone felt pity on me and took over. I was the only one from the desks that was made to get up. The clerk was so disorganized that it took us 2 and a half hours to set up. I was at the store getting a sandwich to take with me and there was another election lady there. she said that she had everything done in an hour! I was there from 5:30 am to 9 pm. You couldn't leave the building once the election started, so we had to bring our own food. I bought a big thing of tea and the Clerk had the nerve to say I was drinking too much tea and not enough water. She was rude and crass. If I work at the same location in November I want to do what is called a Poll Deputy. They sit outside and make sure people with campaign signs are the proper distance away, stuff like that. But it's outside, on my own just greeting people and playing music. Oh, and this was what was called the Presidential Preference Primary, where people decide what person they want to be president.

Sounds like it was alittle rough working election .... is it volunteer or a paid position? I was thinking they mostly use volunteers for those things? I might be wrong since ive never known anyone thats done it. But whether its paid or volunteer they really should be understanding of the challenges you face and do what they can to make exceptions for you.... they ought to be thankful just to have your help. I think you are on the right track to request a different position the next time you do it.
I started going to a new support group too last week... mine is for spouses that are care givers to Alzhiemers patients or people with dementia. I think support groups are good but no one walks in your shoes so the advice you have to decide whats best for your own situation..... which i know you will do after the time you moved out from Geo .

I wish you the best with getting things in a good place with Geo.

You get paid to work the election, but the Clerk was just being mean to me. I don\'t know what I did to her, but she was just grumpy at me all day.
