Supplements
Hi all. I am feeling good this week. I just wanted to talk about some health drinks I've been making at home and other products.
I recently purchased some powdered greens at a health food store. I've been mixing it with my protein shake in the morning and I have noticed a huge difference. I originally purchased the greens powder because I read on a beauty forum it helps with dark circles. Since trying it I have noticed I feel calmer, more alert, and more positive. So I read the label and it says it is a detox for liver and kidneys. My mom always told me that old people around here ate greens every spring because it was good for them. I've never liked greens tho, they are too bitter. This powder version goes great with a protein powder in vanilla almond milk.
Another supplement I have taken forever is a BCAA powder, or Amino acids. GNC has a vanilla latte flavor that I love since I quit drinking coffee. I add this powder to my green powder in the morning. Amino acids help sore muscles and brain function, so more energy.
Here are some other great vitamins. If you, like me, find multivitamins hard on the stomach or ineffective, try a super B complex. It has many of the vitamins you need and the kind I get is slow release. It helps beat brain fog, mood swings, and low energy. L theanine I took for about a month and noticed it helped but after the first month it didn't really help my pms anymore. Another mood support vitamin I swear by is 5 htp. I can't take melatonin because it gives me nightmares. I recently learned from an herbalist that melatonin affects sleep differently in people due to blood types. Anyway, 5htp helps me go back to sleep after waking up at night instead of lying awake thinking stupid things.
And finally there is wasabi. I love sushi and chinese food so I love Chinese horseradish. Lately I have been snacking on dried peas coated in the stuff. It clears the sinuses and so hot I can't eat more than a few. It is a great little hunger beating snack! And healthier than chips so may help lose weight.
That's all I can think of i wanted to say. I'm feeling good today and wanted to share.
