Sunrise

I hate winter.  I don't like the cold.  I don't like getting dressed in bulky coats, I really hate hats, and I don't like walking on ice and in ankle deep snow.  And I live in Calgary.  BUT the upside of winter is that I get to see the spectacular sunrises.  In the summer I have to get up VERY early to witness the dawn.  Our condo has an East facing window wall so I am able to watch the ever changing colours.  Every sunrise is different.  Some days I wake up to a bright fuschia and purple horizon. Other days it is a beautiful pastel or fiery yellow and orange.  Today it is pastel with shades of a rainbow in the North, gradually changing to a pale blue, mauve and salmon colour.  How can one not be overwhelmed with the beauty? I do believe Lisa is reminding me what is important in life.

When I was busy working, I'd sit in front of the TV every morning with my coffee, watching the news. I never really paid attention to what was literally in front of me.  But I did see the last plane hit the Trade Center in real time.  I was obsessed with the 'serious stuff' of life. I never had time to stop and smell the flowers, or watch the sunrise.

I still turn on the TV (habit) but mostly I see very little. I sit and watch the ever changing sky and focus on beauty rather than the dismal news I hear in the background.

Do I miss Lisa?  Every second of every minute of every hour of every day.  Now I thank her for her humour, wisdom, and love of beauty. She reminds me every morning (unless it is really cloudy) that every day is a day worth living.

Lisa:  I am sure the sunrise was as beautiful before you left.  You are not here in an earthly body but you greet me in the morning with spectacular beauty.  I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

What a beautiful journal. I too, look @ the sky and think, WOW....the colors are truly magnificent. I can't help but wonder, that it is even more vivid for Lisa & Jennifer.
Working as I do, I don't often just sit and BE for there is always something to do but when I do, I try to breathe deeply and just be grateful.
Hugs to Lisa's mom!!! Vicki

I'm with you in the enjoyment of spectacular sunrises and sunsets. They are beyond words here each so very different and gorgeous.

Often that is why I'm up early so that I can catch the first kiss of the morning. Often it's a pale pink that illuminates the morning sky and at night it's the fiery oranges and reds that infuse themselves into all the other colors. Mother Nature is quite something, isn't she? :)

Loving and gentle care dearest Marlene and may your needing to wear a hat soon be a thing of the past. lol!

Tight heartfelt (((hugs)))

I must confess, that I am seldom up early enough to see the sun rise in the morning. I am glad you are enjoying the beauty and feeling your sweet Lisa with you.
I have started walking three days a week, trying to build my stregnth back up. I have had to be rather lazy, while dealing with low back pain and chiropractor visits.
I don't know if you remember, that I live in Mississippi. We have had practically no winter and today is in the mid 70s. Wearing capris and a tee shirt. I hope you get some warm weather soon...
