sunny perfect day//church sale and festival//dementia/alzheimer neighbor is stealing chairs//

absolutely PERFECT weather today.  sunny and clear.  there is a festival going on and buses taking people from the parking area to the festival.  they have it every year and the buses get prettier every year.  wonder if the churches make deals with each other?
went to the church sale.  there is a book called the shack that everyone is reading.  on the description, it sounds like its just a murder mystery, but its supposed to be better than that.  ron was there acting odd again.  i think he is hard of hearing now.  i should ask adn.  she'll know.  he's not himself at all and kind of looks right through you.  i hope its nothing worse like the beginning of dementia or Alzheimer's.
the guy that lives around the block on the intracoastal who used to live next door to c is stealing chairs and has alzheimer's.  he was also going onto c's property alllll the time for the passed month (his wife claims) and c says its much longer than that, he was caught on her property the entire eight years she lived there.  there is a GATE in the fence that he put in and he would just let himself onto her property anytime he wanted and WITHOUT her permission.  if you look by the front door of his house there is a collection of chairs there, dining room, office, all mis-matched and belonging to other people.   he is stealing CHAIRS.  lol.  not really funny though.  i hope they were all out for pick up and not on people's porches being repaired.
my neighbor says him stealing was going on way before he got dementia/alzheimer's.   his surveillance cameras caught this little man on his porch stealing plants and sprinklers.  then he would either bring it to his own home or drop it off at another house and steal something else from the next house.  kleptomaniacs get fixated with an item and have no restraint to not steal it.  omg!    he says one of his sprinkler's was at the house behind us during the garage sales over there and he asked the man about it and the man having the sale, said he has no idea where it came from and gave it back to him.  he also claims the guy calls the town DAILY to complain about politics.  wth?  lol.   he says the man has kleptomania and had it way before he got dementia/alzheimers (wonder if they have done a study, do people who have criminal tendencies like kleptomania have a higher incidence of dementia/alzheimers?  just wondering.)  this came about because this tiny man thought i was c or c's sister and i was picking up the metal lawn chairs that c had after the garage sale.  this little man was her former neighbor and he went NUTS about the chairs.  wth?  he even went over by my car and i'm like, what are you doing?   so i called his wife and she came outside and is saying to his aide, HOW did he get out of the house.  she said he ran outside as she was coming into the house.  what a mess.  lol.  can't imagine living like that or having a job like that.   i told his wife to just drop the chairs off to me or my neighbor after her husband finishes having his tantrum.  she says he won't remember anything he says or does, its to that point this year.  he was totally GONE.   his wife laughed and says if he get the chairs onto their property, he  won't let her remove them - he goes nuts over it.   which is why all those mismatched chairs are by the front door of their house.  lmao.    c said to look at the chairs by their front door.  omg!
if he really is a kleptomaniac,  it explains why it upset him when i told him i wanted to vote for the death penalty for thieves, just like they have for murder.  i must have scared the shit out of him, since he is a thief.  his wife kept telling him to put the chairs back and he wouldn't and he would RUN (he's about 70 years old) between the chairs and then pulling at a branch of one of the trees by his fence, totally fixated with this branch and distracted and then run back again to stealing the chairs at c's and saying to me, you don't live here anymore you can't have them!  imagine that, if i was c and wanted my own property.  she just moved, she is making multiple trips, its her stuff, he doesn't own that property.  i said to him, i'm not c.  so then he thinks i'm c's sister.   and i'm like i'm not c's sister.  made no dent at all.  and his wife is laughing saying, he has no idea what anyone is saying or what he is doing.  she has a good attitude, but its totally crazy.
its so strange, you move to an area, but you don't find out all the nitty gritty of where you live until enough stuff happens several YEARS later.    he has a full time home health person, but he should really be in an assisted living (and actually jail for vandalism and theft if he has spent his entire life going onto other people's property and stealing.  wonder if he steals cars too?)     my neighbor says, he caught him on his porch and then the man ran off like a little kid.  the man is very short and thin.  and i was amazed because that is EXACTLY what he did now.  my neighbor shakes his head and he says, its not just from dementia/Alzheimers the man has been a thief the entire time he has lived here - and he has lived here in that same house for 35 years.  he stole my neighbor's kayaks that he kept at his friend's house on the intracoastal.  wth?  that is the same as stealing a car or a boat.   it also explains why bl and cindi who lived on the other side of c and cecelia were all saying you can't trust him.  i never bothered to find out what they meant - or didn't comprehend it because people say so many things about other people you never know what is or isn't true.   it gets repulsive and its easier to not know.  though in life forewarned is forearmed.

This guy has some serious problems! I sincerely doubt that he realizes all the stealing he is doing. It truly sounds like early or even later stages of dementia, if he doesn\'t even remember doing it, or he gets lost, etc. Ya know? Must be so hard on the aide and the wife. Dementia/Alzheimers are such evil illnesses. That person you once knew is gone forever. It\'s a shame.

Good that you had a beautiful weather day. It\'s still cold and very Autumn-like in Jersey, but I love it.

Weekend hugs to you! xo

Did you ask me on my journal why the kids don\'t go upstairs? I don\'t remember. Anyway, the reason is, that having people and doggies over my head would be horrific noise. It IS the attic, although it\'s beautiful and steps up to it and the floor itself up there, creak like crazy. When I DO go up there, I\'ll have to be aware of this myself, so I\'m not constantly waking people up!

Thanks for always being there for me, 38! xo

Hi 38, i know this is no laughing matter, fortunately, none of the older people in my family got that, i worry about me because my memory is so bad already, Think a lot of it is my anxiety. Having said that, you painted that picture so well, i had to laugh, i can see it now in my head, a Little old guy that steels chairs, ha. Must be frustrating for the neighborhood indeed. Will prob have that image in my head all day. So glad you are having nice weather there, it\'s nice here, just too week to enjoy it and i\'m still cold.
He must be a strong little guy to pick up all this stuff, maybe it\'s his excersise regiment, I am wrong for that i know. Sorry xoxo

no, i laughed too, don\'t feel bad. at first it seemed scary and then you realize how totally screwy it is, so you laugh. his wife was angry but laughing and kind of amazed at how totally gone he is. its sad though. such a huge decline in just one year. he is on medication for it, but my friend is a nurse for alzheimer\'s patients and she says the medication makes it worse and vitamins is better and that they go through it differently and it should be at their own pace. wonder if people who steal all of their lives are more prone to early dementia and alzheimer\'s?

in my hillbilly hometown, there were always stories of some nutcase stealing women\'s underwear from washlines.

every now and then, there\'s some national article of a cat or dog stealing neighbors\' stuff, with it piling up in the pet owner\'s yard.
