Sunday Service
We went to Sunday service at our church on the 31st. It's hard to believe that it is almost Christmas. This year has flown by. I think the days go by quicker when you count the weeks by the cycles of Sutent, or by when your next scan is. We live day to day, week to week marked by the calendar of when you start the chemo and when you end it. Steve has FINALLY found the right schedule of days on Sutent before he start experiencing the awful side effects of that drug. We realize that he may have to start back the 4 week cycle or even change drugs. It scares us both to think about having to change. Can you believe he has been on Sutent for 4 years? It has been hard but he has accepted that this is the way he must live, he will ALWAYS have to be on some type of chemotherapy.
He is a deacon in our church and and we observed the Lords Supper on Sunday I watched him pass out the bread and wine (we are Baptist so you know it was not the real stuff) I realized how proud I was of him. He has become a man that has to keep me straight sometimes. LOL You have to remember that we have been together since we were 18 and 19. We have seen some tough times in our 44 years of marriage. We had to watch each other grow up. Mainly him of course (hehe) but I must say that if I had it to do over I would still choose him. He is a man I am very proud of.
Again, I am rambling. I send all of you my best this morning. My prayers, my hugs and my thoughts for those who are struggling. And for those of us who just keep on keeping on. Wanda

Hello ,

It is encouraging seeing he has been on Sutent for that long. Brian has been since Feb. and when you read about the medicine it says general a year. So there is hope. Brian will have his scans in Dec to check how things are going but generally he is doing good also. Yes the side effects can been bad and always look forward for the two week vacation.

Hi Wanda
You and Steve are an inspiration to all of us. You grew up together and are really tight and a great team. Wonder what the record is for Sutent - maybe your guy will surpass it. You are right about living an odd kind of calendar life. It is hard to make plans isn\'t it? Unfortunately I am a PLANNER - and have to hold back - cannot do that to the nth degree anymore can we? Well living day to day has it\'s merits too. God bless the two of you as always.
Gloria
Dear Wanda, I am so glad that Steve is doing so well with Sutent. I pray that he will continue to thrive and serve as a beacon of hope for many others.
Love, Linda
Hello Dear Wanda,
