Sunday Night Concert with Marty Haggard
What a wonderful weekend. We just finished another concert with my friend Marty Haggard. The church was full to capacity and my daughter got to open the program for Marty. I was the Emcee of the concert and I also played the Piano for the offeratory. Marty is a great musician and song writer, just like his dad, Merle Haggard.
Marty is booked every weekend for the rest of this year but, we are still going to try and be with him possibly a couple of more times this year.
I am also in the process of getting him booked again at my church in 2011 Lord willing.
I am truly blessed to know Marty as a friend and as a brother in Christ. Since I am starting my 34th year in the ministry, I have been blessed beyond anything I would have ever dreamed or ever imagined.
Years ago, people saw a man who was a drunken, dope using, long haired, Hell raising Biker, who was told he would never have anything, never be anything, never amount to anything. Society saw a social reject and a man with no future. God saw a preacher and a Pastor in this man. I am that man and I have learned that "those who have been forgiven of much, love much. This is why I love people and try to be a witness to them and to be a blessing to them. If I can, I am going to post a picture of Marty and I, here on my profile page.
