Sunday Ken's Balloon Release
Ken's birthday was easier this year....I thik because mom is dying....We went to the River Dam..It was so very neat. I was just me and my hubby...Ken was a Star Wars Freak...actually left me sitting outside when I arrived for a visit from Indiana to Fl without me knowing, he had gone to see the opening of the new Star Wars Movie...that was years ago....He didn't think I would get there as soon as I did....But he never missed the first show...So I always try to find a Star Wars Balloon...One at a Party Store was all they had..so I got it and a Happy Birthday one and one they said was a HOT Air Balloon...We went to the Newburgh Dam and the sky was beautiful....Almost totally blue with some white clouds...It could have not be more perfect day to do the Balloow Release....It was so neat...the ot Air Balloon was so big the it was pulling the other too=as they began to life off, they did look like a Hot Air Balloon pulling a Basket...What turned out so neat about this is that on our 50th Birthday, I gave my husband and me a Hot Air Balloon Ride.....Ken flew up from Florida to celebrate with us....I can see him today as he was smiling, helping the Balloon and to start off befor it was suppose time...So the Birthday Balloon Release brought back some very good memories...Happy Birthday to my son Ken,,I miss you so much...Love you so much. Forever your mom...
As for the rest of the day, it was spent at the nursing home...Mom seemed to be more aware than she has been....I stayed in her bed with her...we hugged and kissed. I yet to figure out how she is staying alive....a bite of food...a sip of drink..not enough to keep a bird alive. But she is holding on. We put her on fluids but her hards starting swelling so we took her off. Her antibotic is starting to work...She is in stage 3 level of Kidney Failure. I don't believe it will be much longer....Her levels on her kidneys dropped by 20 points..
Mostly, what was great yesterday and even the nurse said, we were are there. We took my sister and niece...then I sent my brother a picture of mom and he came....he lives about 2 hours away and sick himself. But when I told mom he was coming she was very happy and excited....We did not see him. But he wrote me that he also laid in bed with her and soothed her....shared stories with her...rubbed her hair..she laughed and remembed the things he shared....He wrote and shared what a good visit it was.. I told him it would be good memories....as I have had these past weeks and morel
I pray when it is mom's time, she will have an easy passing. She has suffered pain in her bladder ....I will miss mom so much....I love her very much...For now I will visit as much as I can....She has been a great mom....and I love her so much....It will be a said day....Until later I will stop for now...Thanks for the prayers and words of encouragements...Sandi

When those tender days feel a bit easier it is such a blessing. Each year for me is different because I am and I'm never quite sure how I will be and sometimes don't even know until the day "after" when I can sit with what is.
Hoping that your mom eases into her transition and I can feel what a loving relationship you have with her. It was very hard for me to say good-bye to my mom sixteen months after Douglas shed his earth suit, yet a comfort in believing that he would be one of the first to greet her kept me going. I have no doubt Ken will be there and IS there waiting. May this time your mom and you share BE filled with intention and tender mercies.
Hand in hand, Heart to heart,
XO Joanie
Gentle hugs to you, your sweet mom and dearest Ken, Linda
