Sunday
Well I did my duty and took sis to breakfast. After that we went to the store to get her paper and shlek( ice cream, donuts, chocolate and cream desserts.) While she seems glad to get out, she is so very confused. She did not even realize her husband has been away all weekend. I continued to have to tell her where he was and when he'd be back. This time at the store I could not even leave her alone to choose which donuts or ice cream she wanted.
i came back home to do last load of laundry and that was about it. I was trying to forget about everything. My insurance broker called me back and said that she checked and my insurance does show extra help. I wanna believe her and that I should continue to see this through til it is straightened out, but I have decided I can't really believe anyone anymore. I am tired of being set back and forth like a see saw. I am just staying put, surviving and nothing more right now.
It's very hard to just get by feeling numb. I have so much I need to do like plan funeral, will, go through and get rid of old stuff. All these things I put off and all these things I plan to help others cope after I am gone. It seems so very sad to me to think I can not look to or find time to do anything I want to for myself. Except maybe hide or watch tv.

hugs my friend. You are a strong gal. My sister is the same. I have to finish her sentences for her. She has dementia and her daughter is a stupid twit. Glad you helped her out. Sit down and look after number 1 you. All we have is today and worry about today. Yes, get that will done. I have and it a big relief. Did you know if you donate the body to a medical school, you do not have to pay for a funeral. I have. hehehe Hugs again.
You are a good person, VQ, and I am hoping this week goes a little better. For myself, I just do regular Medicare because it is better where I live than having Medicare Advantage. Doctors don't take these MA plans for the most part. I have a terrible part D drug coverage that denies everything. Won't pay for a low dose of a common muscle relaxer, won't pay to up my gabapentin one more capsule at a low dose. I end up using Good RX. I will fire this company and get another one come open enrollment. Sheesh. I paid a lot for a good marketplace plan for years, on my own without company paid healthcare. And didn't have the problems I have with this part D company. At least we have a choice, many choices, and yes it can be very confusing. I like to read the Medicare website about stuff. I know people in the UK or Canada that have terrible health care from the government and they all have the chronic UTIs that I have had. I am grateful to live where I live even with our high crime and high taxes.
I know how hard planning a funeral can be. You hang in there, just make it simple. When my in-laws died, the siblings all wanted it fancy, big name speakers, this and that. Was ridiculous and long winded. I just want it simple for me, a few songs, etc. I know many people no longer do funerals since covid. If the person has few ties to the community and few relatives, they just don't do it. That would be okay with me for me.
I am also hoping that numb feeling gets better. I think it can be pretty normal in some situations in life. Give yourself some love. Make yourself do one thing per day as you said, to do for yourself. Maybe it is small things, like a small joy of walking outside and looking at the trees move in the wind. Just take 10 minutes as a gift to yourself. Because you are worth it.
I hope you feel better and the low mood lifts. Just take it one day at a time and only do what must be done and then rest You are a good sister !! My sisters don’t talk to me lol really none of my siblings do so I think you are a good person to help her out
I am in the national body donor program and I had to lose weight to be able to take advantage of the program as they would not take anyone over 230 pounds......I was in the mid 250 range and had already started losing weight with Ozempic.....my endocrinologist had given me that as part of my diabetic meds regamine.....I am now sort of steady around 225,,,,,,
I will say I up and planned everything but the funeral.....and that part is up to the survivors....I have a monument that is an honor to my parents in mom's parents cemetery and also has two drilled holes inside the base of the bench that is the monument for ashes to be put....that is all a part to the plan as body donor they will give family the ashes after the cadaver studies are over one year of that then it can take a while like up to 19months to get the ashes.....family just has to contact the funeral home in the cemetery where my Mom and Dad are buried to get those ashes into the bench that I bought thru the cemetery there....
I have a trust set up not a bad idea to ease it for people to get benefit from the estate....since my house is my biggest asset, and they have to pay off the reverse mortgage or sell property and get the money above the amount of that mortgage I have taken from the value of the sale.....or they can give the house to mortgage company to sell for them....they would still get the money from the extra but I doubt the mortgage company would sell the house with as much value as they possibly can like my family will.....maybe one of them would like to buy my house and use it as some rental income.....I have two nephews in town....one would be more able to buy it than the other but possibility his parents might help him with a purchase would be nice.....it is a great one bedroom house now as I have done all the fixing up here....
sorry for stealing your thread today VQ hugs and good luck with your planning....trust fund is the way to go with the turn over without taxes.....
