SUN!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!
Broke the all time record for the most rain in one year. In fact, we've had more rain than Seattle this year - not surprised!
With the next presentation steadily approaching - I'm hoping I'm ready. Have a few loose ends and hope that they will be taken care of soon.
My dad turns 80 this year and - at this age - it's a challenge to find the right gift - especially a group gift - as I am one of seven kids. But - I managed to do that and I know he'll love it. A few years ago he had asked each of us to email him our childhood memories and once he collects them, he was going to make a scrapbook from them. He said he regretted that he never recorded any of his mom's stories of her childhood or the stories of him growing up; as she was quite the storyteller. So that's what we did - emailed all kinds of memories to him. I had a feeling, however, that he didn't do anything with them, and I was right - my mom told me that he didn't. Yes! So that's what I did. Between email search and ones my mom had - I think I got 'em all - and then I put them in a nice photo album with each sibling having their own "chapter" with photos surrounding their stories. Some of the photos coordinated with the photo - which was fun to do. I don't know what I would have done without email and Facebook. Since our family is so big - it was impossible to have as many photos of the younger nieces and nephews - so it worked out great! Can't wait for him to see it.
Now my next project - I really have to concentrate on - because the presentation is this week! yikes!!

VERY impressed that you did such a sweet thing for your dad. I bet this will make him cry.....It\'s great that everybody contributed also. I\'m sure he will enjoy this big project.
It is my birthday tomorrow, and I am awaiting being treated well!! Going out to lunch with the A Son, and then for pho with Straight Son and his girlfriend later.
Let it rain, which it is. I know you will get to enjoy your soccer game. As for more rain than Seattle, I think the whole eastern half of the US did get that this year, but Nov is coming up, when we (Seattle) usually bust the records with floods and gales. But it\'s normal for us to have that; I know other parts of the US didn\'t expect what they got this year.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your sunny game, and I will enjoy queendom for a day (that\'s what I hope for each of us, anyway--like the weather, predictions can be off a bit!)
AND good luck on your next presentation. My husband gives a lot of talks also and pretty much gets a kick out of it. As long as you know your subject matter, it can be a lot of fun. And a real \"Zen\" experience, connecting with your audience.
