Sugar
Sugar is the one of the most powerful things I have in my life. 75c a bag, it's white, each grain is insignificant.
Once you heat that sugar, the granules become friends, morphing into a dangerous molten liquid. Sugar is the best way I understand humans, in my head, it sort of goes like this...
At it's molten stage you can't touch it, but you have to do everything you fucking can to make sure it's as comfortable as possible or it will burn or recrystallize. There's a reason they call it 'working with sugar' you literally have no way of getting it to do what you want unless you give it the initial respect it will work with you. No emotions involved, just logical interaction.
Once the sugar has reached it's most glorious syrup like state, a state you have warmly cradled it into, will be poured out onto itself. The cold air and moisture trying to wriggle it way through like the sperm and the egg.
Then you have more or less have a baby in front of you, a baby with the mental state of incredibly fast progeria. You might give them colour, pattern, but it relies on you, to stretch, to sculpt, just like our environment. With assistance it can contort into almost anything. However it's malleability only lasts for a couple of minutes.. Then it's set.
Sharp as broken glass that won't move again until its destroyed. Is that the end of it? Is it waiting to be eaten?
I believe sugar is like us. When it's finished, created with environment and assistance. Helpless, lifeless?
No, it is the most beautiful thing in the world.

Sounds almost like my fascination with wax, with candle making. It was about the same for me when making candles.
The sugar, well, that is another of my obsessions, though in eating it, I found myself fascinated with syrup that I recall from childhood, sugar boiled in hot water, a Mapleine Imitation Maple Flavor extract added, and the addicting taste, and texture. Interesting journal.
Thank you, I like to cook. But I hate the taste of sugar, I sometimes find myself gagging while smelling the sugar bubble away.
I just love it for its beauty. For it\'s creativity and discipline, to be able to give something that isn\'t even aware of worth, a chance to be something spectacular (:
