Success on Week 1 of C25K!
I got the hardest part of the c25k done- the 1.5 mile walk. You start out with one mile, then 1.5, then it goes up 0.25 miles every walking day until you hit 3.1 miles which is 5k. The rest to me are baby steps, and I should be able to do this without a big problem. I used to run 5K's all the time, but that was years ago (over 10 years ago, actually) and I was in a lot better shape then. It's one of the reasons I was so hesitant to join a couch to 5k program in the first place.. I felt I didn't need it, that I should be able to go out there and do a 5k any day. I know it's not true anymore... the 1.5 miles today wasn't too bad, but I can feel it now.
I'm not 16 anymore. I half wish I was, but at the same time I'm glad I have the knowledge that the past 12 years has given me (yes, I'm 28). I learned and grew a lot during college, and there's a lot I wish I had learned the easy way instead of me being stubborn and having to learn the hard way, but that's just the way I am. I'm hard headed. I'm still tired... I was tired back then and I'm always tired now. I can't imagine when I hit 50.. they say the older you get the more tired you get. I'm always tired now with the sleeping problems the depression gives me. I've had depression in some form for almost all my life, so I've had sleeping problems for almost all my life. My parents used to make me go to bed at 8pm all the way up until I was 12, so I didn't learn to stay up late and deal with less sleep, either. You can shelter your kids too much, and I was sheltered from the wrong stuff. I'm not going to go into my childhood now, let's just say it was traumatic.
Okay, moving on. I don't know what else to write... I'm just tired again. I tried waking up early so I could go get my fingerprints done for my volunteering, but the bus passed 10 minutes early, as I was walking to the stop it passed. I didn't manage to go back to sleep for the rest of the day, no nap or anything so I'm just on less than 10 hours of sleep. For me that's not a lot (I know some people would dream to get that much, but with the bipolar it's not a good idea for me to get less than that or else I can go hypomanic).
Stress/Mood/Food- Stress wasn't too bad today, mood was good. Food- I had oatmeal and a yogurt for breakfast, ramen for lunch, macos for a snack and regular dinner. I also had some protein powder mixed because my protein is normally low, so I wanted to be able to get some more protein into my system. I don't know how much I like it yet, I think I have to get used to it. I got a 1 pound thing, so we will see when it's done if I get more of it or not. Okay, I'm going to end this and get ready for bed. I'm just so tired!
