success breeds more success!
I didn't run yesterday. I overslept because my wife is on vacation all this week and with daytime temperatures in the high 90's she had a fit about me running in the heat. It never bothered me much in the past but I was reminded, I am not in my 20's anymore!
So I was due for a day off and took it. Today I got up a little earlier and coundn't wait to pound the pavement! Drank my coffee, took my meds, and dressed my feet with my favorite New Balance sneakers!
Felt a little more tired then normal having skipped a day but ran one and a half miles! Again I pushed myself. Ran hard up a hill, and got very winded this time. I thought his would make the arthritis in my back worse, but it seems to have the opposite affect!
I felt a little bit of the passion I use to have. Apparantly, the flame never went out, it just died down!
I remembered when I was sitting at home doing nothing, I was so depressed and the less I did the more depressed I got. Now I get a little of that natural "runners high" which comes from setting a goal and achieving it on a daily basis!
While I run I pray. I pray for all of my friends on ds especially those who are having life rough. Life is like a marathon. There are hills and valleys. Sometimes the road gets rocky and it hurts our feet. But we need to keep on pluggin to get to the finish line!
I just hope and pray that I can keep it going. Any injury or anything that sets me back will be devastating to say the least!
God Bless all my friends!

Yea, yea, I am rooting for you too! I keep picturing you in my imagination running close to the finish banner. Your words are an inspiration to me. I was feeling kind of yucky today & u gave me the inspiration to call drug counselor for the first time & force myself to keep on moving on with my life, no matter how scarey things may feel at the time. On a selfish note, we also pray about you all the time too--not only for your good health but for you to be around so we hear you all of the time. To hear your words of inspiration. Always look forward to what U have to say. BIG, BIG HUGS!!!
