subway

well at work today and we were deciding on what to get for lunch so we decided to go to subway which seems normal but i havent been to subway since dad died...sometimes when we would go in there dad would be in there eating his lunch and i would be so happy to see him and stop and give him a big hug!  and i looked around for him today and even thought for a min that he must have gone somewhere else for lunch.... working in the city where you live and where your dad lived is really sad....it was great when he was alive, but now it is constant reminders everywhere and its not like i can just pick up and get a job somewhere else :(  i think after this shift is over i will go home have a cold beer, put my feet up and cry till i fall asleep i have been choking back tears all day......and bonus i got a foot long so i was sad at lunch and dinner too ....i must be stupid today....

You certainly aren\'t in any way stupid, you\'re human. This is all so new that you have to work through all the emotions, some happy, and some very sad. Allow yourself to mourn, however don\'t move to think you\'ll escape the wonderful and sometimes sad memories your Dad has left you with as part of his legacy. Cry when you need to and laugh when you can, but don\'t ever think that you\'re not normal in your feelings.

Not stupid - just coping with a very painful loss. It takes time to heal and the pain can just be so unreal.

Take very good care of yourself and over time as the pain begins to subside the memories will be sweet and comforting.

For me -- it makes me happy living to honor my late husband\'s memory. He is very much a part of my daily life.

You are in my thoughts.

So sorry you had such a tough day today. It takes a lot of time before you can think about your loved one without so much sadness and be able to think of all the joy that he brought into your life instead. Hugs & prayers
