Stuffy Room
Today at work I went to walk on the treadmill on my break. The room was close to 80 degrees so it was stuffy. Also, for some reason people at my job love to keep the lights off so it was very dark as well. I started freaking out. I felt like I couldn't breathe and I thought about when I almost blacked out from the PE. Then I noticed my heart rate jump from 93 to 122 I was convinced "it" was happening again. I left the workout room and went and hid in a bathroom stall. By this time my heart rate was 140. Close to what it was when I went to the ER. I thought here we go time to call 911 but as I stood there and took deep breaths my heart rate went down.
I am so tired of worrying about dying daily and not trusting my body or hell even my mind for that matter.

I had a few panic attacks like what you describe and even went back to the ER a couple times--once via ambulance! It was never anything other than anxiety.
Definitely, give yourself some credit for taking a couple moments to calm down and figure out that you were dealing with anxiety instead of another PE. This kind of thing is a learning experience. The next time you get that panicky feeling, you\'ll know that it could be anxiety and I bet you won\'t let yourself get quite so worked up. Even though this seems like a bad experience, it\'s really great that you\'re getting better about figuring out what is or isn\'t going on.
@Toss I\'m glad you replied since you also experienced this. It makes me feel like I\'m not losing my mind.
I started having panic attacks about a month after my PE. I\'d never had one before that, and so had no idea what was happening. I agree with Toss to give yourself credit for taking a second to assess yourself to figure out what was going on. That\'s HUGE. Seriously, that is going to serve you well as you move forward. It\'s like you\'re better armed now to deal with this. That\'s some power!
