Stuff, Update

Well, where to really begin.
Made it thru all the holiday season without too many things tipping the scales healthwise so thats a positive for sure.  Bits of stuff here & there but nothing earth shattering.
I've recently gone thru a whole 5 days without physically showing any active lupus systems.  Thats the most I've been able to do in the last yr and a half I guess.  But alas it continues to show itself quite actively on most of my body with some periods of days where I look almost more red then white.  It itches like crazy for the first 24 hrs then that subsides & the rash areas themselves will quiet down again after that for however long it decides then something can occur in my life & it sets it off again.  But, amidst all this I still do actively remind myself that I'm so blessed as I've got no organ involvement.
I say my rheumy on Jan 3rd.  I know this major puzzles him & he's really scratching his head abt it.  I'm still on prednisone, methotrexate & plaquenil.  He all of a sudden looked at me & asked "how much do you weigh right now".  I told him not enough to make my diabetes dr happy, it's abt 127.  He's reduced the doseage of the prednisone & plaquenil because of my weight.  I told him that I'm not actively trying to lose weight, it's just happened somehow.  I know, how strange is that, right, but thats whats happened.  Darn it all I guess if I just have too healthy of a diet maybe??????  But he did seem to agree that I'm healthwise I'm holding my own more or less but I know he'd be much happier if I could have way longer periods of inactive lupus as even I can admit for me anyways it's seems like this current state has been going on too long.
OK on to diff things.  I'm back at my Mon p.m. Zumba dance class, it felt so good to be back I tell ya.  I know my dr totally concurs that with the physical aspect of lupus & for bone density maintenance & muscle tone this type of workout is important.  I'm also continuing with my Tues a.m. Relax Deeply yoga.  I recently read stats that showed that bone density can actually improve with yoga.  Oh yea speaking of bone density I finally went for my Aclasta Bone Building IV infusion treatment.  I'd been due to go back in June & they had been calling me a few times but I told them that with having been sick with the C Diff thing & the lupus going wacko I just couldn't handle it at the time.  My rheumy was giving me the gears too so I had it done on the 3rd.  It only takes abt an hr.  You can feel kind of flu like for maybe 4 days afterwards & it's funny cause the treatment day & the next day were actually pretty good but the 3rd day, holy smokers, did anyone get the license of that train that flattened me.  BUT within 5 days I was pretty much back to normal.  So I'm set for another year.
Not much to report family wise I think.  Dad, we just live life day by day.  I find I have moments where my mind veers off course & I wonder down the road how I'll handle those times that will get here, will I always be able to stay strong & true, to be a supportive pillar, etc. etc.  My reflexologist says that in a lot of ways I'm setting myself to expect too much of myself & she asked why do I think I'm thinking this way.  I guess alot of us can have those moments in life where you feel you need to be the person that everyone expects you to be.  She says I really need to always focus on just simply being 200% me, end of story.  She's a very wise lady I think.
All else is pretty much fine I think.  Kitties are good.  Angel goes for yrly physical next wk.  She got so major fuzzy this winter that I don't know how the vets going to examine her.  There's a ton of furry fuzz to reach thru.  She's 10 yrs old now so just entering her senior yrs.  Pepper (alias Grumpy Gus) has been eating like the proverbial horse & never gains a pound, go figure that huh.  I guess winter boredom is maybe setting in with him.
Well I guess I'll sign off for now.
I so appreciate the time you all give to check out my life, I so love you for it.

So happy to catch up with you Kitty! Happy to hear you also survived the holidays...Wow, I don\'t think alot of folks really enjoy, sad to say we survived instead of, ahem, enjoyed them huh?

Good for you, back to Zumba and busy! I get how you\'re feeling with your dad, day by day, similar to me and Mom, guess that\'s just the way it\'s going to be with a parent in a nursing home.....we do what we can, compartmentalize and don\'t take it home, and keep on with our lives. Good for the kitties too, Groucho is also kinda depressed, he so loves being outside and just sleeps or eats or poops when he can\'t be. We\'re up to 10C today so he\'s happy outside walking around in the melting snow.

Enjoy checking out your life and I know when you visit me, you\'re online and likely journalled so here I am.... HUGS and Happy New Year, xxoo

I hope the med change takes care of your constant rashes. I really like what your reflexologist said, just focus on being 200% you. Very wise words.
I wish I did more yoga, I am so lazy. I have been looking or a Zumba video as well. Seems all I do find are excuses :p
I hope you 5 days turn into double digits.
Take good care. Much love to you always

Sounds like you did good for the holidays! I wish I could find a good exercise regimen that I could do. Zumba sounds like such fun. I wish I knew how you managed to lose weight while on prednisone........if you ever figure it out you could make millions.....lol

Take care
