struggling

I really don't know where to begin,  I have been battling severe depression for 26 years and have had some degree of depression all my life.  I remember the day I told my husband that I had not read any posts on DS from anyone who seemed to be as sick as I am,  He looked rather surprised.  He knew that I had spent many years trying to help others on the depression site and that I rarely if ever talked about myself,  He also knew that I had gotten to the point where I had to give that up, the helping, as it was to hard to read all of the suffering  and to try to save people from themselves.  But I think he thought that there were plenty of people around these boards who I could relate to and could draw comfort from.  But the  answer to that was "No, not really"

You do seem to give rather than take Heidi , but maybe now is the time to write down your thoughts and draw from the support.

Hi Heidi, I'm glad you are writing in your journal and I am getting to know you better. I've had long term depression also. Sometimes it's worse than others but it's almost always there to some degree. I think it's a good idea for you to keep writing here. I will always read your journals and look forward to it but I am sometimes on this site for days or occasionally longer but I always check in. thanks for being a friend to me on here and for reading my journal too! hope you are having a good night. Wendy
