Strange Turn Of Events
Greetings everyone.
I recently saw my diabetes dr & as usual I went the wk before to have my blood work done as he likes to have the results for the appointment. This was a Monday morning. That night we had been in bed for a while & I woke up to hear the phone ringing. It was twenty to ten. It rang twice but I thought there's no darn way I'm getting up to answer the phone, I'll check the machine in the morning. So Tues a.m. thats the first thing I did. There where two messages fr the clinic answering service telling me to contact my dr's office. I thought oh oh whats up, don't tell me he's leaving practice, they're cancelling myt appt, etc. etc. You know where your mind can go during these times, right..
So I called his office & relayed what had transpired the night before. His girl was as confused as I felt so I just told her well if he wants to talk to me I'm home he's free to call & let it go at that.
A while later the ph rings, it's my dr's office. I answered it & he asks how I am & how I'm doing. I thought STRANGE but I said I'm fine, doing pretty good. He asks you went for blood work recently. I said yea yesterday morning. My blood sugar after I'd been at the lab was low & I realized it probably woyld of been during testing also. He asked how I was feeling at the lab. I admitted that I felt not quite right but because I'd still been battling dizzy spells fr the vertigo I didn't panic. The lab is really close to home so I told him I headed straight for home. It was then that he reprimanded me thoroughly. He said that my sugar was so low I shd never have been on the road, I could of passed out at a moments notice & well you get the picture. He gave me new rules that I have to live by otherwise he's obligated to cancel my license. Every time I'm going to drive I test my blood sugar & If it's not five or more I can't drive. Even if it's a short errand & I'm returning to the car to come home I have to test again & if it's not five or more I have to take something.
So thats my story & I'm sticking to it, LOL. I do feel I was blessed kind of with a 2nd chance because he could of legally cancelled my license right then & there. A dr that cares so much in todays world - how abt that huh.
So, I'm back at yoga, the first class felt tough but I focus on good I'll feel as I go along. Been a bit lazy at the gym overall though but you just keep on trying right.
Lots of hibernating going on right now, too darn cold to want to stick my head out if I don't have to. My birds are eating like there's no tomorrow but then maybe they live each day for what it is, enjoy it & thats life.
I can tell now that leaving the cat shelter is such a huge burden off my shoulders, it was the right then to do for me at this time. I'll await what the world has in store for me.
So thats it for now. Hugs & more hugs to all mty dear friends.

So happy you have a second chance, please watch those levels though, your doc knows what\'s best right? I know you love yoga and being back is a boost for your sould and body. Hibernating? Me too. I just moved our feeder closer to the deck as we\'re now completely snow covered and my little sparrows and chicadees need food, right. Something new volunteering will come along, everything happens for a reason, right friend? Love and hugs .... stay warm! xxoo
My future SIL is Diabetic. Twice, he passed out at the wheel from low blood sugar! This was years ago, when he was younger...he\'s 41 now, but still, he isn\'t allowed to drive anymore. SO BE IT!! Now we have to drive him around or he takes mass transit to work.
It\'s SO important to check your numbers, Kitty!! Please do it!!! Lecture from nurse Ratchett from New Joisey. Who cares!!! OK? OK! xo : )
Shame my friend, I\'m so glad that you are alright, I was so worried about you when reading your journal, as I care about all my friends here and you are one of them. Please take special care of yourself and I\'m sending lots of hugs your way. xx
Hey, sweet friend. What a caring doctor you have. Lucky you. It\'s rare these days, huh? Now you have a \'second chance\" and the means to know when and if it is safe for you to drive. Love and light and hugs and blessings to you from me.
Awesome DR I know I had 2 Awesome ones left me back to back ten years apart one fav had to tell me on my b-day & that was so very hard I made her a bunch of stuff to put in her new office & nurse took pic of us both she wasn\'t just a Dr to me she was way more if anything was wrong she would call me herself just like my neck dr has done when I had to go thru 2nd cancer surgery called me after 7 at nite to let me know right away & when I lost my right kidney my family Dr did not know they were suppose to let her know I didn\'t know they didn\'t when my nurse was walking me back to the bed I heard this voice & I didn\'t even have to turn around my Vicki came to see me the day I lost it on her day off WOW brings back so many memories all I remember is her helping me back in bed & got me to go to sleep & she sat there for over 2 hours reading the paper no Dr has ever done that & after she moved on her partner Karen still saw her at times have lunch together & on my visits with her she said Vicki would always ask abt me & one nite out of the blew Vicki called me to check up on me that was so very special & kind for her to do that when she was no longer my Dr & the reason my other left me was she was always riding the bus up here for 10 years about a 3 hour ride in good traffic I really miss both of them I hope you are feeling better my sweet friend sending tons of Huggies*Smiles*Hope*Faith*Joy*Peace*Luv*Angel*
Wow, I\'m so glad that they let you know what\'s going on and nothing bad happened to you. I hope you can get your levels balanced so that you don\'t have such ups and downs. I hope Yoga helps too. I just started and am loving it. I am glad you have such a good and thorough doctor. Even if it is hard on you, it will keep you safer and out of trouble ; ). xoxo miss you lots!
