Stormy weather

2 days ago I was telling a friend here how I wished we got nice thunderstorms like we did back in Oklahoma.  The storms here are different.  More lightning and showers with hardly a rumble.  Last night though....we had a doozy that mightve put an Oklahoma storm to shame.  The thunder was so loud it jolted me awake and rained hard the rest of the night.  All I could think about was my poor plants on the back porch and how good they looked yesterday.  This morning, you could hear nothing but the frogs outside.  The plants were a bit roughed up but I think they will bounce back.  I received a text from an ex this morning which was surprising as I never expected to hear from this particular person again and I was just fine with it.  He was just asking how my treehouse adventure was.

I need to call and make reservations for labor day weekend.  Haven't talked to roomie about it yet and think it might upset him but, once again, if he's not gonna plan anything, I am.  I know what he'd want to do and that is, go to the beach and hang out like the other hundreds of people, but, I'm not down for that.  I think my beach days are over as I can't stand to sit all day especially in this heat.  Work is once again quiet.  Ive picked up my ex coworkers duties as well as my own and I'm happy about that because I enjoy being busy.  She texted me last week and said "I guess you found everything you needed".  I don't think she can wrap her head around the idea that the office didn't crumble because she decided to quit abruptly.  We picked up right where she left off.  My boss asked me today at lunch if I missed her and I honestly admitted " Not really, she really stressed me out".  

Am looking forward to getting home this evening and just relaxing.
