STOCK UP

Well, the craziness continues.  So much is at a stand still.  Concerts and sports events have been cancelled for awhile now.  The schools here are now closed for at least the next 2 weeks.  (Some are smart enough to have online check ins for assignments.) Flights and vacations are being halted. Some churches are even taking precautions (after all , alot of those who do still regularly attend are older or some struggle but  cling to their  faith and hope to fight health issues.)

People have been flooding in since Thursday. (Walmart ran out of TP and sanitizer, so they hit us and we were still pretty well stocked) So we had our regulars and some of their customers who all loaded up. They wiped us out ... AND EVERY DAY SINCE !!  We have now had to limit the TP and paper towels to 2 pks. (they were taking shopping carts on Thursday)  WE were also told today thet until further notice our 24 hr stores will close from midnight til 6 AM. (To restock.  They have spent their shifts running registers because many are coming in late to avoid crowds.)

We were also told that our stores have been doing such heavy volume (some are trippling normal sales-- we have doubled ours) they are unable to get the amts from suppliers to fill them.  So our normal Supervalue truck which would come tonight ( and quite possibly Tuesday's  as well) will probably not be shipped to us.  Being the kind souls that they are-- they decided to send all the loads ordered to the top 10 stores to keep them flowing .  (All I can say is we worry what will happen as our shelves are all but bare for possibly a few days. People are already arguing over the last whatever.  Is nuts.)

So if you are in the boonies , you may want to stock up a little while there is still something on your shelves.  It could save you a further trip down the road.

Everyone stay put and safe.  I wish I could.  :(

Wow, it's crazy all right. I don't know if we are over-reacting--probably--but maybe it's better to be safe than sorry. Providentially for me, I'm a saver and I'm always well stocked up. My brother and I should be ok. But the next 2 weeks I'll be watching 2 grandsons, grades K and 2, so both parents can work. No school here, and my son-in-law, who usually works all night, has to be on day shift for 2 weeks. Bad timing! It sounds like you are handling this as well as possible. Keep your chin up and stick it out. This will be over eventually, God willing.

Hopefully they hold back some staples in back for the employees to purchase. I think that all of this food and shopping craziness will return to normal in about two weeks.

Years ago I stayed with my Mormon aunt in California. She canned veggies and dried fruit from her garden. She had a year supply of food. What I loved is that she did it not out of fear of having enough but that she could share if others were in need.
That’s what we need now. To remember generosity. Mr Rodgers said when times are hard look to the helpers. Courage makes us that

It is like that here too. People acting like there will never by any more TP or bleach wipes. I guess hand sanitizer is worth its weight in gold. We have some of both. I bought ahead just because I already do that. It has been bad weather so I get one extra pkg of something usually a week. This is crazy. Since the mayor of NYC said things would be out of whack for the next 6 months, people took his literal. I have news for him, NYC will never be "normal" as long as the weirdos are in charge.
The average life will be back to dull in about 2 months. I'm pretty sure. REMEMBER Y2K!

Oh yes, Y2K. my ex made me stock up to the roof. But I alway had extras on hand. Especially during the winter months when I did not have time to go grocery shopping. I am well stocked up and so is my daughter. Not because of coronavirus, because we had coupons and used all of them before they expired. hehehe.

All of the stores here are cleaned out of most everything. I had to borrow toilet paper from my ex, lol! That's pretty bad.
