Still working hard...
Hello Everyone,
Where does time go. I have been on here reading posts when I can but it has been a busy 6 months. One day to day fight continues. Although I must say it is not as day to day anymore. I got my new and first grandchild the end of last year. What a blessing. She is my life. It has helped me so much. Don't get my wrong I still have moments and urges and stupid thoughts that I could win big. But I know the truth in my heart and I know how cumpulsive gambling made me feel. I don't want to feel like that again. Life has been so much better. You never realize how good it is until you stay away from gambling. For me the more I gambled, the more I wanted to go back.
So for those starting this journey to get your life back, you really can do this. It is hard and it is not a quick fix. I found myself making up so many excuses as to why I did it and who's fault it was that I gambled. You know what conclusion I came to was it was no one's fault but my own. I turned to something to avoid dealing with life's issues. That was my escape. It was my drug. I did not want to admit something like this was controlling my life. But it did. Thank God I have been able to make changes and realize that I can get through life without needing gambling. It feels so good to start the day happy.
So I will continue one day at a time. All of us are fighting the same battle. Never loose hope. Take back your life.
